Hello everyone. I am an Eastern Orthodox Christian. I have been wondering if during bud/s there would be an orthodox Chaplin or if I wouldn’t be able to be exposed to the liturgy for the 6 months at bud/s. I figure there will not be but I thought I would ask just in case

Can Tier 2 seals wear ECOTIS? I always look it up and it says they can but I haven’t actually seen a picture with them on maybe you guys can help me.

I got DQed at meps, failed to get a waiver and now I’m wondering what I’m gonna do with my life.
I kinda bet everything on being a seal, never wanted to do anything else so now I’m kinda lost.

I often hear that picking a mentally difficult job is important preparation for buds. I want to go to buds or another SW selection program and was trying to find what would be the best move. My original thought was to do marines for like 4 years and then go to seals but a lot of people said that was not smart. I’m now thinking maybe firefighting for a bit and then going to a selection program. Do you guys have any thoughts or advice?

Do you have to wait until 13-18 months from PRD to submit package to go to SO/SB? My assumption was as a previous DOR you have to wait until a quarter before the 2 years you DOR from.

I’m hoping this is an okay place to ask. I’ve written my first novel, The Matchbook — a fast-paced military thriller about a young CIA cryptographer who gets thrown into an accelerated training pipeline and a high-stakes mission alongside a SEAL assault team. I know the premise is pretty ridiculous, but the story is really about the main character’s journey and earning the respect of an elite team. The operators are supporting characters, but they’re important to the story, and I want to portray them and the culture with respect and accuracy.

The manuscript is relatively short and quick to read. I’ve already had beta readers go through it for general storytelling and pacing. What I’m looking for now is authenticity feedback from someone with real special operations experience (ideally a former SEAL).I’m hoping for notes on things like:

• Dialogue and team dynamics
• Small behavioral or cultural details
• Training or operational elements that don’t feel right

I’m not asking for classified information or real tactics. If something crosses a line, I’d much rather be told “you can’t write that.” I’m happy to pay for your time. I was thinking around $150–250 depending on how much detail you’re comfortable giving.
