#nokia/ngageQD
It was the same rainy season when I bought my first mobile phone — a Nokia N-Gage QD — and at that time, I was in 10th class.
Ngage proto
I just found this console at a secondhand market here in Mexico. Do you know if there's any way to add games to it without buying the original memory cards? Everything works perfectly; in fact, I bought it for about $45 with an Atari game already included.

Let's Talk About N-Gage G-Grade Cards? 🤔
I've been collecting N-Gage prototype cards for quite a while, and the more cards I find, the more questions I have.
From my observations:
• G1.5 usually contains very early alpha builds. • G2.0 is often beta or pre-release software used for press/demo purposes. • G3.0 is usually very close to the retail release.
But there are many exceptions.
Some G1.5 builds are almost identical to retail, while some G2.0 cards contain much older software than you would expect.
Have you ever found a card that completely broke your expectations?
I'd be really interested to hear your observations, theories, or comparisons.

New Ngage Owner!
Took a gamble on an untested ngage qd that included a game from eBay with $50 offer to seller. Works perfectly after purchasing a new battery and charger. Was it a good deal?

Original N-Gage display problem
I've been trying to power on my old ngage but having a display problem with it. Anyone come across this one before and have any luck with a fix? (I've disassembled and cleaned everyting with IPA so far.)

PROTO Nokia N-Gage QD.
Hello!
I recently (and mistakenly) bought a PROTO Nokia N-Gage QD while looking for an N-Gage system.
While unplugged, the screen occasionally flashes white, but immediately cuts out. The system only seems to do something when plugged into constant power, and that something is take a while to boot up and then ask for a SIM card. But it’s something!
I’ve already found another similar system that isn’t a PROTO system, so I don’t really need this one, but I just wanted to ask around here if there’s anything special or worthwhile or necessary to do to make this one as workable or valuable as possible. I’m aware that game saves do not work for a system like this one due to the unique software, but I’m sure someone out there cares about collecting something like this.
Let me know if there’s anything about this thing that makes it worth keeping!

Just bought an ngage
I’ve been seeing online that ngage qd sometimes needs to be flashed? Is that what is happening with mine? Thank you all so much

Expert opinion
Hello everyone, after my previous post I realized that there are still many people passionate about the N-Gage platform. I recently went through some old items from my collection and found several NFR / pre-release cards (G1.5, G2.0, G3.0).
I’m curious how valuable or interesting these kinds of items are to collectors today. Some of them were internal builds, some promo/journalist versions, and a few are titles I almost never see mentioned anywhere.
I attached a small part of the collection below just to hear opinions from people who understand this niche better than I do.
Would be interesting to know what people think about their rarity and approximate value today. All thoughts and advice more than welcome 🙏🏻

Box arts
Hey! I'm a contributor on The Cover Project, a not for profit website meant to preserve and make publicly available covers for video game boxes. This serves both to help save these pieces of art and history, but also to help any collectors who, for example, have games loose without the original boxes and wish to display them. I recently spoke to the owner and convinced him to add a Nokia N-Gage category to the website. However, I only have one game, and we could do some help getting a greater amount of high quality scans, so if you have any N-Gage games please help us out.
You can make an account on the website, thecoverproject.net , but it can be a bit finicky so if you prefer feel free to reply to this or DM me and send me any scans over, which I can adjust and upload.
Many thanks!

Hello World
Hello everyone, my name is R2, and I am sincerely surprised that the N-Gage platform, which I also played a small role in, is still appreciated today.
I have preserved a significant number of different game builds — G1.5, G2.0, and G3.0 — which have been in my collection since the early days of the platform.
At this stage in my life, I am going through some changes, and I would like these collectible items that I have carefully kept for so many years to go to people who truly value and understand them.
If you are interested in knowing more, please reach out.
Thank you.

Are the N-gage QDs found on ebay legit?
i bought an N-Gage QD from an ebay seller around a month ago and while I'm enjoying it, it occasionaly stutters during games. Does this normally happen with n-gage QDs? If not, is mine even real?

Why the N-Gage calls itself "device", but at the same time can't boot without a SIM, like a phone?

I was there, and found some incorrect information.
btw: MobyGames never claimed these information. Nevertheless a very cool exhibition. ♥️

Would an established brand attached helped the NGage?
So I think in hindsight the NGage itself has been seen less like a monumental failure and more of a misguided attempt to make a "gaming phone".
I always thought the idea of a cell phone company trying to appeal to gamers was less likely a success than, for example, trying to sell a gaming handheld that had cellphone capabilities.
So I always wondered: If Nokia had partnered with an established gaming company and branded the phone as a handheld rather than try to sell themselves as a cellphone for Gamers, would it have worked?
Imagine an alternate timeline where Nokia partners with a company like Sega (who at the time was only several years removed from hardware seling) and announced the "Sega NGage". A new handheld console that could also make cell phone calls, rather than a cell phone that plays games.
Would taking this tactic have worked to get that cross-over appeal?

New addition to the collection
Extremely happy to add this one to the QD.

Rayman 3 on NGAGE might just be my favorite game I’ve tried so far (out of only 6 or 7 games that I own so far). It has a lot of replay value and it works well on handheld. Rayman is just a great franchise anyway and its Ngage version is no exception. Ashen is a pretty cool game too, but this wins!
…wish there was a way to connect the Ngage to a tv. If anyone knows of a way, I’m all ears!

Radio save
I remember getting an OG ngage @ 12yo or so. Was my first phone. T-MOBILE prepaid. Had: Splinter Cell Rayman Sims Tomb Raider
Saying all this, the few things that I remember the most was how if I didn't have my headphone mic with me I would have to use the speaker to talk through it. Also, without the headphones in it, the radio wouldn't work and I used the radio a lot back then. Would record the songs off the radio to listen to them whenever I wanted. 😅
Need a 5G Ngage. Lol
