I’ve had this game on my ps5 since the beginning of the year. It runs great in everything I played. However recently I finished the campaign for the 2019 MW and wanted to continue with this campaign, but it never wants to open and i cant seem to fix it. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it yet it gives me the same results. I hope it has nothing to do with the physical disk itself.

Tried playing DMZ this evening and started to get this error whenever i tried loading into the game. Did some research and tried using the methods from about 3 years ago, did not work. I was able to play yesterday from morning till 5pm. Other multiplayer games work, seems as though the issue is with MWII.

I just now realized that they re-used this Campaign skin for their first nuke skin in Warzone 2.0. To this date I have never seen anyone mention this on any social platforms and I was quite surprised when I saw it when replaying the Campaign recently.

I'm confused, I just found a disc of the og version of MW2 but I'm confused on whether I should play it or instead get the remastered version for better graphics. However, when I search up modern warfare 2 on the xbox mobile app, it says that it is free but google says that it's supposed to cost about 20 bucks. Not to mention it is like 100 gb for the full game while the disc version is way less than that. Anyways, I wanna know which one is better (keep in mind it's my first time ever playing it) I don't really mind not being able to play multiplayer on the remastered one since I don't have xbox gamepass to play online in the og lol.

I am just barely getting into cod so all of this stuff is confusing tbh.

My assault rifle platinum challenges are not tracking, despite me having 8 golds in warzone.

I bought MW2 2025 when it came out, I remember downloading it and when I tried to play nothing would load so I just kinda put it away and forgot about it. I recently was browsing the app store and realized I had bought it and there was a download button where the purchase would be. Its giving me an error screen with (WS-43691-3) and saying I cant buy it. I was confused because I already purchased it. I want to play modern warfare 2022.. Ground war. I will take xbox game pass subscription (pc) for this only reason.. Premium.. One... Please anyone can you tell me whether.

After spending hours troubleshooting, I finally found a solution for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022) Campaign Mode settings bug.

Problems I was facing:

1. Unable to change or save Campaign Mode graphics settings.
2. Screen tearing even with V-Sync enabled in-game.
3. DLSS/NVIDIA Image Scaling was not being applied in Campaign Mode, even after enabling it in the main menu.
4. Graphics settings, controller settings, and other options were resetting or not applying in Campaign Mode.

Solution

Step 1: Make sure your display is connected directly to the dGPU

First, check whether your laptop display is connected to:

• Integrated GPU (iGPU) ❌
• Dedicated GPU (dGPU) ✅

If your laptop has a MUX Switch or Advanced Optimus, switch it to dGPU-only mode so the display is connected directly to the NVIDIA GPU.

Step 2: Configure NVIDIA Control Panel

Open NVIDIA Control Panel and navigate to:

3D Settings → Manage 3D Settings → Program Settings

Select Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (MWII) from the program list. If the game isn't listed, click Add and select it manually.

Now change the following settings:

• Vertical Sync (V-Sync) → On
• Image Scaling → On
• Sharpness → 45%
• Check the Overlay Indicator box
• Click Apply

Step 3: Configure the Game

Launch Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022).

From the main menu, navigate to:

Settings → Graphics → Display

Display Settings

• Turn In-Game V-Sync → Off

If you're using NVIDIA Image Scaling (NIS), change the Display Resolution from your native resolution to one of these resolutions:

• 87% → 1632 × 918
• 77% → 1477 × 831
• 67% → 1280 × 720
• 59% → 1130 × 635

Once you've selected one of these resolutions, the NVIDIA Image Scaling overlay indicator should appear in the top-left corner of the screen, confirming that NIS is active.

Next, navigate to:

Settings → Graphics → Quality

Change the following settings:

• Upscaling/Sharpening → Off
• Render Resolution → 100%

Step 4: Save Your Settings

Now configure everything you want before launching the campaign, including:

• Graphics settings
• Keyboard & Mouse controls
• Controller settings
• Keybinds
• Audio settings
• Interface settings
• Any other preferences

Once you're done, click Apply Settings.

Step 5: Lock the Configuration File

Close the game completely.

Navigate to:

Documents\Call of Duty MWII\players

Find the following file:

options.3.cod22.cst

Right-click the file → Properties

Under the General tab:

• Check Read-only
• Click Apply
• Click OK

This prevents Campaign Mode from overwriting or resetting your settings.

Step 6: Launch Campaign Mode

Start the game again.

Before launching Campaign Mode, quickly verify that your settings haven't changed.

If everything looks correct, launch the campaign and enjoy the game.

Results

After following these steps, I was able to:

✅ Save and use my graphics settings in Campaign Mode.

✅ Eliminate screen tearing.

✅ Get NVIDIA Image Scaling working properly.

✅ Keep all controller settings and keybinds from resetting.

✅ Play the campaign normally without the settings bug.

Tested On

• Laptop: Dell G15 5530
• CPU: Intel Core i5-13450HX
• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU (6 GB)
• Operating System: Windows 11

Notes

• This fix is mainly intended for NVIDIA laptop users with a MUX Switch or Advanced Optimus.
• Make sure your laptop display is actually connected directly to the dedicated NVIDIA GPU (dGPU) before following this guide.
• If you're using a desktop PC or an AMD GPU, some steps may differ, but parts of this guide may still help.
• If you're using DLSS instead of NVIDIA Image Scaling, you don't need to lower your display resolution. Simply leave Image Scaling disabled and enable DLSS in the game's graphics settings (provided your Campaign Mode settings bug is resolved).

Hi everyone,

I was curious if there was still any way to obtain the Vault Edition for MWII. It being almost 4 years since MWII launched, I think the only remaining option would be to find a key for the game bundled with the Vault Edition content.

By comparison, MWIII’s Vault Edition is still available for purchase online if you go through the major retailers (Best Buy, GameStop, etc), even though the game is approaching 3 years old this fall.

I’m open to any feedback or suggestions you may have 🙂

This game literally crashes every 2 minutes. There are some times I get into a match but I haven’t been able to FINISH a match as it just won’t stop crashing. It doesn’t even say anything about like a crash code, it just closes and that’s that. Has anyone else had this issue or know a fix?

in my library i cannot find the standalone edition, do i HAVE to install cod hq to play MW2 or is there a way to install a standalone version?

So ive been playing MWII for the past 5 months on pc and i constantly keep gettinv crash to desktop crashes on pc i play on steam and the game sometimes crashes instantly in the menu somtimes..i try to use safe mode but that dosent do shit.

Ive tried verifying the game files on steam it kept saying my files are fine..ive put the game as administrator and disabled fullscreen optimizations it still crashes..i updated my graphics drivers and my motherboards bios the game still crashes. Ive tried many ram speeds and the game crashes on diffrent speeds i tried. The game still crashes i reseated my ram into my motherboard it still crashes. Ive deleted every document folder related to MWII uninstalled and re-downloaded the game it still crashes. Ive tweaked some settings in MWII when i got the chance and even with the lowest settings it still crashes ive updated my cpu drivers it still crashes. I resetted my bios twice and the game still crashes. My cpu temps while playing the game are around 55c to 60c and my gpu temps are mostly 53c to 60c so my cpu and gpu are definitely not overheating. Ive also closed many background apps etc and the game still crashes. I also do play warzone on the call of duty HQ and i almost never crash on that game and i heard that the cod HQ was much more unstable compared to the standalone game for MWII.

I honestly dont know what to do anymore ive tried everything to get this game to stop crashing i dont know if im doing anything wrong or im just missing something i need help man 😪.

I've been trying to find ways in Ground War to get easy kills with the JOKR. I haven't found enough ways though, I had one really good game early on and that was it. They do barely any damage against vehicles, they do next to none against helis too.

My question is it even possible for someone to get a JOKR MGB. I am not aiming for an MGB for the record, I just need to know how to get more kills with the JOKR. If this was Shipment it'd be easy, but I can't find anyone to blow up in Ground War. Occasionally I will find one guy on a rooftop for a free kill but not much else.
