HELP please! Meeting invites & distribution lists

Context: Meeting invites were originally sent via Outlook using distribution lists, and have since changed.

I tried removing and re-adding the DLs, then expanding them and selecting “Send only to those added/removed.” However, this resulted in cancellations and new invites being sent to some attendees, ultimately spamming people with both. The invites were sent some time ago, so I’m also not sure who was originally on the DLs versus who has since joined or left. Is there a way to identify the new joiners without affecting existing attendees?

What is the best way to send the meeting invite only to people who have joined the DLs since the original invite was sent?

Thanks in advance!

Impossible Authentication Loop

I am desperate for help. I am stuck in an authentication loop that I can’t get out of. My attempts to follow self-help steps ended up locking me out of my outlook app on my computer and phone today. Microsoft Support is ignoring my emails because my small business staying afloat is “minimal” priority according to the AI that categorized my issue.

I have been using Office 365 Pro, including Outlook for email and calendar. It is my own domain. All was working fine, but I wanted to log into my Microsoft account. When I tried about 2 months ago, the website told me to authenticate my sign-in using the Outlook app on my mobile device. All well and good… except the authentication option didn’t present itself in the app. I tried refreshing the app multiple times. I selected “I don’t have access to the app right now”, and was told to authenticate using the Authenticator App. I downloaded the Authenticator App and tried signing in. The Authenticator App wanted me to verify the sign-in using the Outlook App. And round and round I went.

I read the help articles that say it could be too many requests in a short period of time, I thought maybe the app just needed updating, no big deal. I waited. I tried again on at least 4 separate occasions. Same issue. Outlook App gives me no option to authenticate with the two-digit number, Authenticator app won’t let me sign in without the Outlook App authentication, and at no point is the browser letting me either use my recovery email or phone number to authenticate the sign-in.

Today, waited until after work (about 5:30 EST) to try again. Found another help article that linked me to the sign-in helper. I put in my username and was told it wasn’t found. Because I use Microsoft/Outlook for a work email, I clicked the link for people who use the software for a work/school email. That took me to a password reset page. I was able (on that page) to authenticate my password reset using my recovery email and by verifying my phone number. I thought (stupidly) that maybe this was it - maybe this would fix the issue. I tried signing into my Microsoft account using the reset password. It again asked for authentication with the Outlook App. Outlook App yet again did not allow me to authenticate. But it had also logged me out.

Now here’s where I realized I may have just totally ruined everything by following Microsoft’s own instructions… because I tried signing back into the Outlook mobile app. And the Outlook mobile app asked me to Authenticate my new sign-in… you guessed it… with the Outlook mobile app.

At this point it’s around 6:30. I’m worried. I try calling the toll free customer service numbers that it takes me ages to find. AI tells me to go to a website for support. I go to the website. It tells me to log in. But guess what happens when I try to log into the support website to get help with my sign-in authentication issue. It needs me to authenticate my log-in.

I try calling back. I guess it recognized my phone number. The AI went straight to telling me to go to the support website. Finally I call the 305 (toll) number and I get an AI assistant that at least takes more information, like my name, and my email address, and what the issue was. It was a very long and frustrating test of my patience to respell my name multiple times. Finally it gave me a case number. I thought everything was going to be OK now. I checked my email (7:02 PM) and the email says my issue is just inability to log into my admin account (which is not the real urgent problem), and my issue is categorized as “C” priority. That means “minor impact” and it’ll be dealt with in their own time whenever they get to it.

I replied all and explained that this is not a minor issue. This neverending authentication loop has now locked me out of accessing my business email and calendar. There is no other admin. I am self-employed. This is definitely a major issue.

I get an email 15 minutes later from a technician stating he’s been assigned to my case and asking when he can contact me. I reply back immediately and say I’m available now, anytime, I am by my computer until this is resolved. That was at 7:21. It’s now 10:05 pm. I sent two more emails, one asking whether I’d be hearing back today because time is of the essence, and I really am sat here waiting, and a second one about 40 minutes ago basically begging for someone to at least acknowledge that they’re reading my emails and I wasn’t just back-burnered. Well, the technician’s shift ended at 10 pm my time (7 pm PST), and I haven’t heard anything.

I am having a complete breakdown at this point. I run my own business. I have client meetings in the morning. I can’t function in my profession without access to email and my calendar. This is catastrophic for me and Microsoft couldn’t care less. They’re too busy saving money by replacing actual customer service with a machine that can’t spell to worry about their actual customers.

I don’t know what to do at this point. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions? As I said, I’m really freaking out and just need help.

I get there may be nothing that can be done, but any help and suggestions would be really appreciated because I am definitely going to lose clients if I can’t get this fixed by 8 am tomorrow.

Is it possible to recover rather long since deleted emails?

Roughly two years ago, I received an email from an unknown sender. The contents of the email contained an attempt to blackmail me based off of my internet history. They had stated that they’d hacked my devices and had recorded me. It stated that they’d be releasing their recorded footage unless I paid them. I shrugged this off as a scam and ignored it. Slowly since then, I’ve began to experience continued harassment and stalking that I can only assume was the result of a smear campaign.

I unfortunately did not make the connection between the email and the targeted harassment. I’ve struggled finding help through law enforcement who refuses to act until I gather my own evidence. I’ve since tried finding this email explicitly attempting to blackmail me, however I have been unsuccessful. It’s safe to assume that the sender has deleted the evidence from my inbox and trash.

Is there any way to try and recover this email without the help of law enforcement? I’m not confident they’d be quick to help me considering the email was sent going on two years ago, as well as potentially being sent to one of two emails. I’m positive that I received this email. I’m positive that I’ve been dealing with long term targeted harassment. What’s the likelihood I’m able to recover these emails on legal grounds? I’ll add the email provider is Microsoft Outlook on a personal account.

Isit possible to disable all intelligence in Outlook (MacOS)?

I'm tired spending time researching how to disable Outlook's intelligence just so I can send a three sentence email. Is there some way to just make it stupid and remove everything?

URLs to our SharePoint are constantly shortend. I will never want to shorten any links because I want to ensure the recepient is aware of the address. I would prefer plain text without a hyperlink at all. "Paste as Plain Text" does not work.

I'm writing the word "don't" and it's converting my font from sans serif to serif. I presume it has to do with typing an apostrophe but I have no idea why it would want to change my font. When I submit an undo command, it erases the word.

I'm just sick and tired of everything doing everything for me. At least Clippy would just offer a suggestion without actually changing things for you.

Outlook 16.110.3 on MacOS.

I got sick of uploading sensitive email templates to random web converters, so I open-sourced a 100% local CLI/Web toolkit.

Missing Login Options on Outlook/Microsoft Account

Hi,

4 days ago I reset my password for my Microsoft Account/Outlook. I changed the phone number associated with the account and the backup email. I also use the Microsoft authenticator app.

I wrote the password I used down in my notes. I literally copied and pasted it.

Today I've been logged out and the same password isn't working.

When I verify my identity with an email code it just takes me to the page where it asks for a 25 digit recovery code. Which I don't have.

It's not giving me the option to use a text message or the authenticator app.

I don't understand why I have so many backup login options but none of them actually log me in.

Does anybody have any advice?

what's your biggest SharePoint + Power Automate bottleneck? (trying to build some fixes)

Hey everyone,

I run a small YouTube channel called Automate M365 where I focus on making straight-to-the-point, step-by-step Power Automate tutorials. No fluff or long intros, just diving into the actual logic because I know how annoying it is to sit through a 10-minute video just to find a quick expression fix.

I want to build some tutorials specifically around SharePoint automation, but instead of just guessing what to make next, I want to solve real-world headaches.

Whether it's setting up automated deadline remidners based on dates in your SP lists or Excel sheets, sending dynamic emails to people pulled directly from a person column, or trying to manage summaries as HTML from Excel—what’s driving you crazy right now? Drop it in the comments below. I’ll honestly try to look through them and build the exact solution in a step-by-step video for you.

If you want to check out the channel or subscribe to see if I build your fix, the link is here: https://www.youtube.com/@AutomateM365

Let me know what you're stuck on, hopefully we can figure it out.

Dominios 📧

I built a free Chrome extension that puts sender logos in your Outlook inbox and makes ads more obvious

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I kept clicking on ads in my Outlook inbox by mistake. Outlook's own "Ad" label on sponsored emails is small and easy to miss, and otherwise the row looks exactly like a real message. Happened enough times that I built a Chrome extension to fix it.

It does two things: First, it shows the actual sender's logo next to every email in your inbox list, so you can spot who something's from at a glance instead of reading every line.

Second, it replaces the logo on sponsored rows with a bold "AD" badge, so you always know what you're about to click before you click it.

There's also a small popup with stats about your own inbox: your most-opened senders over the last 7 days, your busiest day for email, and how your mail splits between Inbox, Other, and Junk. All calculated and stored locally, nothing about your emails leaves your browser for that part.

It currently only works on outlook.live.com (the free Outlook version). Update: I was just told that it works for the professional version too (outlook.office.com) :)

It's called Sender Icons for Outlook, free on the Chrome Web Store.
Let me know if you have any feedback, happy to add more features.

New Outlook Print Dialog

Interesting case of Outlook Printing on two devices I have had so far and looking for thoughts on possible causes.

There are two Windows 11 devices at two different client locations, so they are also on two different tenants. Both started with an issue opening the print dialog box. The dialog box would not open either in the desktop client or the web client. The old version of Outlook provided a work around. Initially I did find a known issue with images hidden from external sources causing the problem, but the issue also affected internal emails. We have reset the app, completed removed and reinstalled it, and emptied the folders where the cached files are located.

After a week, one of those devices had the print dialog start working again and nothing was done by us, but I also did not get to check for any OS updates. The issue on the other device started 3-3 weeks later, but after a week, still can't open the print dialog.

I may be wrong here but I thought the desktop client was just the web client in a wrapper so the code in both is the same, and is not impacting any other users.

Personal email account remains accessible on a company PC even after signing out of the new Outlook app

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I logged into my personal email account using the new Outlook app on the company-owned Windows PC assigned to me.

I now need to return this PC because my company is replacing it. However, after signing out of my account in Outlook, I noticed that my personal account is still saved on the Outlook start page. I can sign back in without entering my password or completing any authentication.

My account also still appears in the Windows Share menu, and files on the computer can apparently be sent through my personal email account directly, as shown in the attached screenshot.

I have already tried deleting the related account information from the Windows Registry, but this did not completely remove it. After restarting the computer, the account appeared again.

How can I completely remove my personal email account, cached credentials, authentication tokens, and any related Outlook data from this PC before returning it to my company?

I would prefer not to reset the entire PC because it is company property.

Thanks in advance for any help.

My Outlook/Microsoft account has been hacked

I've tried submitting forms to support and had them come back only to have failed to fill in fields that were completely useless because most of the security questions would have been changed anyways.. So I dug around Microsoft's support hell pages to find an actual live person to help me out.

We talked for a while with him telling me that my account would be locked in the meantime but I had no actual way of verifying if the account was actually locked because the entire email was changed along with the password so I'd have no way of actually logging into it to verify that information, He then redirected me to a shorter Xbox site to enter information into another shorter form that was much easier to use than the form on the Microsoft.com site, but that's about the easiest thing I'd done so far.

Beforehand the agent I was connected with said that I could enter a period of time when the account was created and try to get the date as accurate as possible. When I did finally fill in the information I was then told that "the higher teams" would be able to reset the security information and password with their 'special tools' and to rest assured.. then the live chat ended. I waited about and hour and a half before getting the response to an alternate email only for the 'higher teams' to tell me that unauthorized access had occurred and that security information had indeed been changed but due to their "strict security protocols" they could not modify or restore the changes made to my security settings.

Is there any way for me to get my account back because its connected to my PC along with my Xbox and Mojang accounts and I'd lose many games and my files

I built an Outlook email signature manager — looking for feedback from founders

While working with startups I kept seeing the same small but annoying problem: Outlook email signatures are almost always unmanaged.

Someone changes roles, branding updates, or new people join — and suddenly everyone has different signatures.

Some outdated. Some broken. Some missing completely.

So I built a small tool that lets teams create and manage Outlook email signatures centrally, then automatically sync them to everyone.

Main idea:

• One place to create signature templates
• Automatic sync to Outlook users
• Instant updates for the whole team
• Consistent branding across emails

Nothing fancy — just trying to remove a manual task teams usually ignore.

Curious if this is a real problem for other startups here.

Page explaining it:
https://www.bybrand.io/integrations/microsoftentra

Would love honest feedback.

Delegated Inbox

My boss has delegated his inbox to me and wants me to dig in and create an organizational system for him. I can view his inbox, but I cannot view or create subfolders.

Can someone please help me figure out how to gain complete access?

Thanks!

Microsoft confirmed my account was hacked, but refused to recover it. Is there anything else I can do?

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

A few days ago, my Microsoft account was compromised.

The attacker managed to:

Remove my phone number.

Change all of my security information.

Add their own passkey.

Replace my recovery methods with their own email address.

After that, my original email no longer worked to sign in, and Microsoft said the account didn't exist.

I immediately contacted Microsoft Support and opened a recovery request. After investigating, Microsoft confirmed that unauthorized access had occurred.

However, they also told me that because the attacker had already changed the security information, they could not restore my account or reverse those changes. They even said that if I owned Minecraft on the account, I would need to purchase it again on a new account, and that any OneDrive files could not be recovered.

I still have the security emails proving the changes happened, but they still refused to restore the account.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there any way to escalate this to a higher-level Microsoft team, or is my account permanently gone?
