Hi! Title says it all. Selling my tickets to Fridays show for less than face value ($150 for the pair).

I listen via Spotify on PC and discovered that my motherboard's built-in Realtek ALC897 codec (DAC) had an output impedance that substantially reduced and loosened the album's bass frequencies.

I discovered this today when comparing As If You're Here on my PC, phone, and macbook. It turns out the song has a driving bass line. Who knew? (Probably everyone except for me!). Antigravity goes so much harder now, as does Loyal. Wow.

If anyone else out there exclusively listens via PC, a $30 USB DAC like Sound Blaster might substantially improve your audio quality!

ChatGPT told me that many PC audio listeners are unknowingly hearing suboptimal audio via PC motherboards with cheap audio outputs. This isn't noticeable if you're using cheap headphones, mind you. I have ATH-M50s.

I was a huge fan of metric and loved all their early stuff, I stopped listening after Synthetica came out, ventured in to new bands and genres to listen to. After seeing they just released a new album a few months ago I figured I'd return and check out everything they released after Synthetica, and what better way than to listen to every album beginning with their first. So far I've listened to every album up to romanticize the dive, and saved every song I love in to a playlist.

I think it's safe to say everything after Synthetica for me at least hasn't been that great. There's a few great songs but for the most part it's been underwhelming compared to the old stuff of theirs I fell in love with. How do you feel about this playlist of songs?

Anyway, going to listen to romanticize the dive on tomorrow's drive to work and then my playlist will be complete.

Any other stuff I should check out from bands or Emily haines her self? I've only listened to her emily haines & the soft skeleton stuff which I love but you definitely have to be in a mood for it.

Hello all! I came into possession of tickets for the All the Feelings tour and I’m excited! However I haven’t been keeping up with the bands’ more current work (anything within the last ten-fifteen years) .

I’m kind of wondering if I should listen to it all now or save it for the show to introduce me to it? I don’t go to a lot of concerts and the one I went to more recently I was bummed I hadn’t done a better job listening beforehand but that was an artist that I try to keep up with.

What do you all think?

Somehow found Metric in the wild through decor in the background of the TV show Four Seasons

I looked online and I couldn't find anything about this art work used for the album.

Is it true that Emily and Jimmy used to date in the 90s? Also, when was the ‘3rd’ album recorded? Or more specifically, written? Since almost all songs include James doing the back vocals or having a part in the song and it only eggs into that rumor more. But I assume they are just really close friends and that is why they decided to do so many duo songs. Almost like a band, but there are two frontpeople. Kinda like Oasis. Liam is the image of the band, but Noel somehow makes it into that as well. Like when you talk about Oasis people will go “Oh Liam and Noel!” and not mention the other members.

I really hope this isn’t nosy ahaha, Im just curious. Because I know Joules and Joshua met each other through highschool/college, but theyre still pretty close to the other two and don’t really show a closer bond to each other like James and Emily do.
