I've been trying to get the Harbinger seal since I never got it before, and I'm having a lot of trouble with Crota. I haven't had much trouble with any of the other nightmare hunt time trials, but the fact that you can only use the Hive swords to damage the boss is taking up a lot of time (on my last attempt I got to Crota ~3 minutes in and still couldn't kill him in time).

Is there a trick to doing more damage with the swords? Or is it just down to luck and hoping Crota doesn't bodyblock the swordbearer knight/the sword pickup?

I'm using Lament w/ Strongholds, which somewhat slows down the ad clear, but I haven't been able to reliably stay alive otherwise.

I've got all of the exotics that Rahool has, as well as many weapon exotics. But I don't have any raid or dungeon gear (only just got my friends into Destiny), and I'm slowly starting to notice the armor set bonuses.

My question is fairly simple: what are your must-have exotics, armor sets, weapons, etc for a competent raid-ready hunter? I'm using meta builds, but they're sort-of every-content builds, and I've never had a build where you switch weapons out mid-fight, between fights, etc. So I'm new to that concept. Is there anything I should always run (I'm aware of Tractor Cannon as one example of this)?

Maybe this question is too broad. If I had to boil it down, what are your must-have exotics, weapons, or armor sets, just because of how overpowered they are?

Ive recently been into the game again. It’s so much fun. Anyone else been wondering about getting back on?

Random musings from Shattered Throne

This morning I figure I’ll go solo for the “Kill Dul Incaru with Wish Ender and it’s been since just before Season of Black Armory (or whatever it was called lol) so I’m doing it from memory and a map of Erebus on my phone.

\- I have no memory of where or when the Ogres spawn on the thin platforms so I have never been so nervous doing that bit lol.

\- I’ve never been a fan of Lament because I didn’t understand how to effectively combo with it but I decided to look that up.

\- Getting Vorgeth to the damage phase wasn’t so bad, went to town with Lament and then struggled to get back to my starting position afterwards. I looked at his health and see that he almost dies. My new plan once I have done this is to complete its catalyst thanks to that success. A few runs later and I have the “Kill Vorfeth using one ignition” triumph.

\- I get to Dul Incaru with no plan other than Stormtrance on the Knights and the Psions (my usual) and then Whisper to lower her health and then switch to Wish Ender if I need a second phase.

\- This goes as well as expected as I do not account for the Knights shielding if I take too long, needing to cleanse the Finite Thought buff if I run out of time or even the existence of the Crystal and its use.

\- 10 deaths later after some trial and error and I got the Pallas Galliot ship. I thought I already had that lol.

Like I said, really random and probably pointless musings lol. I figured I’d post something something light hearted from this run.

I don't know where else to post this but I want to get this off my chest lol.

I was doing an LFG master VoG where 4 of the players were all in a clan, so it was only me and another random person there, and the 4 clan mates were clearly kind of new. They knew the raid but weren't excellent at mechanics, which is perfectly fine, I was doing LFG to help new players anyway. But we wiped like 6 times at Templar because we would die during dps and not 1 phase, so I suggested one of the clan mates put on a better heavy (they had an arc lmg with no damage perks on) or even just some arc surges so we could clear the last little bit of health. I wasn't intending to be rude but they told me that this raid was easy and that I was clearly overthinking it, and for the rest of the raid they were ignoring my comms or saying it was my fault when we wiped when it wasn't. I did both solo mars and oracle's for atheon first try and said "GG nice comms" and they told me to work on my attitude so I snapped and told them to listen to advice if they are going to load into a master raid with a dog shit loadout but now I feel bad because I was new once too and they might've just been simply underestimating how much harder master is.

I don't know, this post is dumb and you can delete it if this is not the right place but I do just feel bad for telling them that they suck lol

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a friendly clan or community to regularly play Destiny 2 with. My goal is to learn the dungeons and eventually the raids while having fun with a consistent group of people.

I’ve tried Discord and LFG, but I haven’t really found a regular group yet and to be honest I struggled with discord a bit. I’d love to find people who enjoy playing together, don’t mind teaching when needed, and are patient with someone who’s still learning some of the endgame content. I’m not trying to master every activity or speedrun everything—I just enjoy the game and want to experience more of it with good people.

Usually play before work in the mornings or in the evenings
Happy to use a microphone, especially while learning mechanics

Once I know an activity, I’m also perfectly happy with a more relaxed, low-key run

I really want to experience a raid completely blind, just to feel that high i got while doing prophecy and figuring out the mechanics by ourselves.

I know the standard meta for contents nowaday is all about super efficiency and fast loot clears (which is totally valid), but Im specifically looking for the crowd that understand the heightttt of satisfaction when discovering new things, and also doesn't mind taking rest and multiple days between encounters.

Just finished a dsc raid with sherpas and, man, no offense to the sherpas, I was just in the wrong experience. Throughout the 3 hour run i was just bored out of my mind because the answers to every problem in every encounter were just spoken out loud. I felt a heavy sense of loss after finishing it, because it could have been a really good experience.

Xûr, Agent of the Nine, is a strange vendor who appears weekly in the Tower. Xûr sells Exotic equipment and only takes Strange Coins in exchange for them.

TL;DR: He's the Santa Claus of Destiny and every weekend is Christmas. Sometimes he brings you what you want, sometimes he brings you coal. Mostly it's coal.

I usually duo this dungeon with a friend, neither of us exactly run anything "optimal", we've always used Sleeper Simulant which would work fine but the encounter would end up dragging on a fair bit. Looking for any suggestions on what to use instead to make the encounter less of a drag.

I usually run Solar Warlock w/ Well and Sanguine Alchemy, my friend plays Hunter.

I've heard something about Dawn Chorus and infinite ignitions but I have no idea what I'd need to run in terms of fragments, artifact perks, etc.

What are the Trials of Osiris?

• Trials of Osiris is the pinnacle PvP activity. Every weekend, players compete in a 3v3 game mode with one primary goal: Go to the Lighthouse.

• To start, head to Saint-14 in the Tower Hangar and buy one of the possible passages (see below).

• The Lighthouse Passage grants entry to the Lighthouse after reaching 7 wins, with better rewards for larger win streaks.

• For those not interested in visiting the Lighthouse, a lower-stakes Passage is available.

• There is fireteam matchmaking. However, we still recommend you find a team for yourself!

How Long do the Trials of Osiris last?

• Event Starts: Every Friday at Daily Reset (1700 UTC).

• Event Ends: Following Tuesday at Weekly Reset (1700 UTC).

Where do I go to find Guardians to team up with?

I was rewatching some cutscenes recently and I realized that I couldn't remember, off the top of my head, exactly how many times we saw the traveler do something directly, so I wanted to check with y'all to check my work in case I missed one

My current tally after thinking harder about it is 4/5 onscreen and 1 off screen but visible in-game.

- Red war: reawakens to annihilate Ghaul

- Season of Arrivals: repairs the damage from the red war

- Witch Queen: sends Immaru to resurrect Savathun (debated on this one, since all we see is Immaru coming from the direction of the traveler)

- season of the Seraph: moves from the last city into orbit

- lightfall: shoots the terraforming beam at the witness

- monument of Triumph: moves back into it's old position over the city(off screen but plainly visible)

Did I miss any? Anything that you think I should have included but forgot about?

So I took the plunge and bought the collection on Xbox. Have a couple thousand hours on PC, trailed off after playing some Renegades. Just gonna list a few things I've noticed so far.

Starting a fresh warlock, and wow do they throw a lot at you. 3 pages of quests instantly.

It's actually a bit hard. Don't have a vault full of exotic weapons and armour to fall back on, can't instantly change my build to suit a weapon or play style.

Not having Strand, Stasis or Prismatic is strange, but I'm quite enjoying basic Light subclasses.

The grind for a good weapon is non existent now with the introduction of tiered gear, it's a lot easier to get a decent roll, I do remember the grind for a good roll.. not a fun time.

It's a lot more "newbie" friendly. There are new light quests which give you exotic armour (some of them are alright) and introduces you to various things within the subclass, like jolt, weaken and scorch.

Oh, you also don't get thrown into the newest dlc as soon as you open the game after creating a character, which is nice.

Just a little rambling about my experience so far. I'm having an absolute blast rediscovering parts of the game I haven't experienced in years.
