I love lord of the rings like everyone else here. But I grew up on the rankin bass Hobbit VHS tape long before the LOTR movies. And I think the Rankin bass hobbit is a fine adaptation of tolkiens work. To this day when I think of a hobbit, it’s this version I imagine. Same goes for Gollum. So I very much wanted to add them to my collection.

I used Plex and ErsatzTV to create a tv channel that plays nothing but LOTR content.

So far i have all the LOTR and Hobbit films, the Bakshi film and the new Rohirrim movie.

What should i add next?

so i ran the math and pippin would have eaten approximately over 20.000 calories, thats about 15 large pepperoni pizzas, is this amount not a big deal for hobbits?

Obviously he's a godfather to the genre so he gets those pioneer privileges, but there's something truly different about the way his characters are written.

I think that most fantasy stories write their characters the way they would in any other genre. Meaning that they treat fantasy as more of an aesthetic than a philosophy.

The best fantasy is nor just an aesthetic, you have to write uncompromising characters!

Few weeks ago I saw here someone posting about this book. So, I needed it too and here it is, just arrived! 😬

I know this is a weird request. But does anybody have an HD picture of the floors in Bag Ends (Bilbo's and Frodo's house)? Or does the books give a good description of them. I'm redoing my floors and might take some inspiration from them. I know the intrance is tile, most of the rooms are hardwood with a herringbone design, and the kitchen is stone like tile.
