Was actually much easier to learn than I expected

IJA is coming up (yay!) and that always gets me thinking about workshops since they’re my favorite part!

I remember being desperate for someone to do a backcrosses workshop back when I started going fests. And it got me wondering, do you have any workshops you wish someone would teach?

Any patterns you feel don’t get enough attention and are tough to learn? Any techniques or topics you wish someone would teach?

Shit light...stoked to get a few catches.

What clubs are really good and on the heavier side?

I use mechanical method similar like "brazing" to seal opened russians

It's about joining 2 different metal flat ish surfaces (different metals can't weld) with a "filler/brazing metal/alloy" as adhesive

kinda like a glue in the middle

But here it's 2 plastic surfaces, ball and cello tape

Also cello tape can't be melted by glue gun, it's melting temp is very high

This makes glue in between flows into microscopic surface details, making it air tight

I have them for almost a year and they're still air tight ( but not pressurized, easier for me )

Unrelated, I use 7cm 30g balls because it's slightly more than ball weight with lowest center of gravity, according to math of many ai chatbots

As part of my juggling software project, I'm working on some Animator features.
A pet-peeve of mine was that editing the hand-paths, as for a Mills-Mess or Robot like pattern was really annoying in existing animators.
That's why I am building this editor where one can just drag control points and get instant feedback on the path. This hand movement can also be exported and used for example in https://jugglinglab.org/anim

In the second screenshot you can see a behind the back example. The warning icon show that the movement is technically slightly out of reach for the arm.

The work draws on the existing animators from jugglinglab, passist and gunswap.

What are some of your ideas you would like to see incorporated in a juggling animator?

Hey! I’m looking for some help with reverse back crosses with 3 balls. I’m not entirely sure that is the right term for the trick, so to clarify, each ball is thrown from the front of the body and caught behind the back with the opposite hand. I can do a single reverse back cross just fine but I am trying to work up to make the pattern continuous. Maybe I’m just searching up the wrong things, but I havnt found many tips or advice on this trick. I can get 2 throws in a row pretty easy and 3 throws in a row a good 50-70 percent of the time, but am having trouble going beyond that. It’s been very frustrating. I’ve been juggling on and off for maybe 5 years but have recently got back into things. Any advice would be appreciated, I’d love to get this pattern continuous.

Hello everybody. I'm wondering what skills are needed for a good foundation for juggling clubs.

I'm trying to learn 5 clubs (40 catches as or) and can flash 6 clubs and got 7 club flash before. I really like numbers :)

BUT! I can't even do a 3 up 360 with 3 clubs and can't do backcrosses with 3 clubs.

I was wondering which skills would you consider extremely helpful for numbers juggling. What foundations are important to progress?

As I am currently practicing my 2 up 360, I think 360s are a great foundation to have.

What else? :)

I juggled a lot as a kid. I went to circus camp and was obsessed for a few years. I'm starting to get back into it and I want new clubs. I bought six Renegade 95mm clubs as a kid. Two have since broke, but I also don't like that they're bigger than standard clubs. Since I can't really try out any of the options, I'm hoping for peoples' opinions on what I should get. PX3 and PX4 are what I'm trying to decide between, but I'm also open to other suggestions. will the flex in the PX3s be too much for me coming from a wood dowel club? thanks!
