So following the naming guide and TVDB's episode order why do movies still not pull metadata correctly when under specials with the correct names?

Is there a fix/ better way to name them in the same folders? or do I need to make several collections with all of these?

The most recent is my SAO collection I only have 2 of the movies.

Edit - TVDB was not enabled for the folder, I'm guessing I reloaded or disabled plug-ins at some point as I enabled it when I setup the folder.

Hey, can someone tell me how I can disable the mini window (up next)? it is still visible when the counter is 0 and also complete next episode. if I don’t click on it it will never disappear.

Im quit new to jellyfin, i have a problem that if i watch a movie it stops around every 10 min for around 15 sec, seems like its buffering(?).

What settings should i check?

I run jellyfin on win11 PC and use the androidTV App to watch movies. Both connected via lan.

I'm running the latest Jellyfin server successfully & I have the client installed on a Samsung TV running Tizen. Playback is fine, but I'm trying to tweak the look.

Been messing with CSS code and I have some basic understanding.

Currently busy setting up my own theme, using CSS code I've found online.

My problem is, I can't change the color of the navigation indicator, on Tizen, when moving around the options onscreen, via the remote.

Whatever CSS code I add or change on the sever side, it just stays the default blue on the TV.

I know it is possible, to change it, cause there is some themes out there which does exactly what I want it to do.

Can anyone please provide me with the code that will work on Tizen?

Hi there, I'm loving the new version 12 - absolutely lightning fast for my use-case (100,000+ videos).

I have a ton of timestamped videos for a lot of security cameras, but the new auto versioning feature treats tons of files as the same video but with multiple versions.

Movies | Jellyfin - multiple version feature

Is it possible to turn this off? Or is there a library type that won't trigger this feature?

Naming scheme is mostly:

garage-loadingbay-20260823-001.mkv

garage-loadingbay-20260823-002.mkv

If it matters, this is using the Jellyfin Web view, but not sure if this feature is part of the backend/api or client.

I used the Home Screen Sections plugin to create custom rows/sections in Jellyfin, and they work correctly there.

Now I’d like to display those same sections in Moonfin, but I can’t find them in Settings → Customize → Home Screen → Home Sections. They don’t appear among the available options.

Does Moonfin support sections created with the Home Screen Sections plugin? Is there another setting or configuration step required to make them appear?

OK, another issue's cropped up related to my recent reinstallation of Jellyfin. As I stated in a previous post, I moved Jellyfin from my Windows drive to a separate drive and used manual backups, which in hindsight may have been my mistake. But regardless, I now have a situation where Jellyfin is still looking to %LOCALAPPDATA%/Jellyfin/root/default for my library metadata instead of where the thing's actually installed now, at J:\Server\root\default. Obviously, that meant having to copy back those folders to the old location in order for it to actually find new media.

The most irritating part of this is that I feel like it should be as simple as editing the location in my settings and just...point it at the new folders. But it's not editable in the GUI and I cannot find any source explaining where I would change it in the config data. What can I do?

Im using Jellyfin to stream animes. I realise it has the tendency to jumbleup the series naming senses.
Ive installed the Shokofin plugin and it rewrote allll the episodes here as you can see above, instead of Episode 1,2,3…etc.
I opened up Shoko Server and saw the metadata naming conventions have no issue. How do I fix this?

Why is this happening? My folder structure is pretty straightforward. Any suggestions to organizing your anime including OVAs and specials?

A few days ago I had some problems getting Swiftfin to chose the correct audio track on a movie. I decided to do a manual update on my tvOS AppStore, so I'm now on v1.5.

I now experience that opening Swiftfin puts me in my home screen for a few moments, then switching to a grey login page with my main user as a huge icon, I have to press in order to get back to my home screen.

I have been using Jellyfin+Swiftfin for years, and this is brand new behaviour. I can't seem to find a setting to have my old vastly preferred behaviour back.

The behaviour is not immediately reproducible, but it seems to occur at least daily.

Am I the only one experiencing this?

I'm currently trying to organize the mess with my Jellyfin collection structure and solve some identification issues that I've had to correct manually in the past. Since some movies have localized titles, I'm wondering what the best way is to name the folders for them.

The problem was that some localized titles weren't recognized, and I had to fix them manually. So, I decided to rename all movies to their original titles but also keep the localized ones, e.g.:

Original Movie Title (YEAR) [Localized Title]
|___ Original Movie Title (YEAR).mp4

Since some titles have weird localized names, like just the subtitle, what's the best approach? For example, let's take the movie "Alien: Resurrection (1997)". The localized title according to IMDB is "Alien - Die Wiedergeburt".

Which option is better?

1. (original) "Alien: Resurrection (1997)"
2. (mix) "Alien: Resurrection (1997) [Alien - Die Wiedergeburt]"
   
3. (mix + "-" » ":") "Alien: Resurrection (1997) [Alien: Die Wiedergeburt]"
   
4. (shortened mix) "Alien: Resurrection (1997) [Die Wiedergeburt]"
5. (localized only) "Alien - Die Wiedergeburt" or "Alien: Die Wiedergeburt"

What's the best way to handle this? Also, how do you guys deal with this? Do you keep only the original title, only the localized one, a mix of both, or a shortened mix?

I have been trying to get a movie to come out non pixelated on my Mac using Handbrake but nothing seems to work? I made sure the dvd player was flat I checked the cords to make sure they are getting a good connection, I downloaded homebrew and installed libdvdcss but with all of this the preview still comes out pixelated and glitchy? I’m not sure if I’m missing something or if it just doesn’t work on Mac or if I need to use a different program. Any help would be amazing

After using Jellyfin on the webOS client for quite a while, we've noticed that our TV has become increasingly sluggish—not just in Jellyfin, but across all apps.

I'm now looking for a budget-friendly Android TV or Google TV streamer that runs Jellyfin well. Any recommendations? I'm based in the Netherlands.

I ripped my old looney Tunes DVDs and put them all out in my Series Library (in their own subdirectory). As far as IMDB is concerned, this is six different box sets but I didn’t really want that degree of separation. And now Jellyfin is totally misidentifying it. Any suggestions for how to handle this?

I'm starting to convert my entire old divx/mpeg4 collection to h264, these are mostly old 720P or lower quality files, so would like to keep as much quaility as i can.

I'm using crf 18 using the built in ffmpeg in Jellyfin, is this recommend to keep the most quality?

The file output is roughly the same.

No idea what is going on here but I've got all of the MCU in a collection however it's not sorting by release date despite metadata saying it is. For example. correct order for 2019 would be Captain Marvel, Endgame, then Far From Home.

I've checked the sort type in the metadata for the collection, checked the release dates in each individual movies metadata, but it's still not sorting correctly.

1. Runs natively on (Fedora) Linux, i.e., no Windows app running via Wine.
2. Can download files on demand and then play them from a local cache without downloading them again in the future (hence, no streaming only).

I'm using Feishin, and when streaming from the server (no transcoding), the sound quality just sounds a little bad. Idk how to describe it, but it feels more buzzy and tinny than my local music files (the ones synced to my Jellyfin server) played via VLC. I assume the bitrate when streaming is less than the bitrate with local files. The files are .opus btw.

Is there a way to stream with original quality instead of this streaming quality?

I've enabled the TheTVDb plugin, and when I edit the metadata for The Office (Superfan) I can choose several episode ordering options

but "Alternate Order 2" isn't one of them.

Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

My current setup (LG WebOS) isn't doing for me anymore.

I do have a couple of the og Xiaomi Mi Box S's, but they are very long in the tooth... So need to get something new.

I'm looking at either the new version (Xiaomi TV Box S), or the latest APple TV.

Any reason I should spend 3x the price for the Apple?
