Discussion I made a website that turns subreddits into non-stop radios. Here is r/industrialmusic!

I got tired of clicking posts to discover music so I made an app that autoplays them like a Spotify radio. Thought you might like it.

AI-generated music is now banned from the subreddit

1.6k Upvotes

After taking feedback from a lot of sub members, and having an internal mod discussion, we have decided that AI music is now banned from the subreddit, irrespective of whether this is self-promotion or someone else's work.

Please continue to report any AI-generated music and we will remove it from the sub.

Thank you for your feedback and for the various discussions over the last few months.

After a long search, contacting multiple people, and having to do an offsite order from Germany I finally acquired a promotional copy of above the floor by God lives underwater. The quality is so much better, let me know if you want the ripped songs and I’ll send them to you. Edit title is supposed to say my holy grail.

I've been thinking about Carbon a lot, lately.

Who else but VNV Nation can so impeccably describe what humans as a species has done to the planet?

We kill everything.

News Chad Lovell, Course of Empire member and live tech in Dallas, passes away after a traumatic brain injury from over five years ago

It was just shared on Chad's support FB page that he has died. After a head injury circa 2019, he was left unable to speak or function. He was in various facilities over the past several years, but he was able to communicate with others through movements and noises. Course of Empire has reissued two of their albums (and released an outtake album too) in support of Chad over the past few years.

I know that Course of Empire isn't a huge name around here. But they had a brief spell on a major label and they were truly unique, combining elements of industrial rock, post-punk, and noise rock...and they were one of the few bands to utilize two drummers simultaneously (and not just an extra percussionist either - actual full-blown drum kits for both). Chad was essentially an original member (he joined a few months after the band's formation but before anything was recorded anyway) and he appeared on all three of the band's albums. Along with vocalist Vaughn Stevenson, bassist Paul Semrad, and guitarist Mike Graff, Chad played with drummer Anthony Headley, who was replaced by Kyle Thomas, who was replaced by Michael Jerome. Chad also did a lot of the engineering and production work on the Course of Empire music. After the band broke up in 1998, he went on to do tech work at Dallas venues (I'm not from there so I don't know those specifics).

Here's a few standout tracks from Course of Empire. RIP Chad.

Coming of the Century (from their 1st album, was their debut single - 1990):

Infested (from their 2nd album, was probably their most popular song as it got a decent amount of exposure - 1994):

White Vision Blowout (from their 2nd album, another strong single - 1994):

The Information (from their 3rd album, also appeared in the film Dark City and was produced by John Fryer - 1998):

Discussion Does anyone else remember and have details about the Chemlab box set?

I have a Chemlab box set and there is a sticker on the side with a number written in pen that I can't tell if it's 6689 or 0089. It was put out by Invisible Records and had new copies of the main 3 CDs with a few bonus tracks, the new Suture CD, and I have some other things in the box that I can't recall if it came with it or if I just stored them in there - a Jared Louche covers CD, a signed poster for the same, a double sided Pigface tour poster with a list of albums available on the back, a tour laminate with Jared on one side and Pigface on the other, about 5 postcards advertising Oxidizer one on side and the Pitchshifter live CD/remix album on the other, Oxidizer, and The Machine Age EP.

Does anyone have more details about this? It's not on discogs and I don't know how many were made and what all was included in it. I also didn't have luck finding info about it elsewhere, but it exists b/c I have the damn thing.
