please help I've been admitted to IMSA but I have no idea where to find my new email. I vaguely remember verifying it or something (?) but I need help pls. Also how do I change my reddit user

Hi, I am rising sophomore at IMSA. Last week I received my AP scores for CSP and World (I got 5 on both). I wanted to know who, when, and how I could send my AP scores so I get placed into the right classes (I don’t want to be w dr mohan 😭🙏🏻).

Questions I have:

Should I send my scores after I get my schedule?
Who should I send them to?
Should I send both or just CSP?
How can I send them to IMSA?

I'm a parent of a rising 6th grader who (as of now) wants to go to IMSA. We're in Champaign, so we have that "other" smart school here - Uni, which may or may not be an decent option. But Uni has a 3 year integrated math course that combines Algebra II, Geometry, and Trig, which you can't uncouple or test out of, which is what is making us look more at IMSA.

My kid is going into 6th grade at a K-8 school known for its advanced math, but he's exhausted their curriculum - he's had algebra I and geometry. I'm currently in search of an online algebra II class. I'm interested in the Illinois Virtual Schools & Academy - is anyone familiar with their honors algebra II and if it would be beneficial for getting into IMSA?

And also, are there kids that far ahead in math at IMSA? Do I need to slow him down in his math courses over his Middle School years? We're not the pushy parents, we've just followed the advice from our school's testing and want to encourage his love of math. I'd hate to have him repeat classes he had in elementary school.

i’m an incoming sophomore and i was wondering which laptop i should get. i currently have a 2020 mac air, and i would like to purchase a new one for the upcoming school year. i know macs aren’t recommended by its, but i love apple products and i am the most familiar with them. i’ve seen conflicting opinions in this subreddit from older posts, so i decided to make my own. i know taking one computer sci class is mandatory, but i don’t plan on taking any other cs classes. if anyone has any recommendations pls lmk!!! i was thinking about getting a mac air or a mac neo, but if enough people think i should get a windows, i shall choose that instead. (if you think windows is a better option, please leave windows laptop recommendations in the replies too)

i went to orientation on saturday and i thought it was rlly fun! i was in blue student group, and my orientation leaders were soo chill. ppl like them make me excited for imsa. i was wondering how others felt abt orientation, and how theyre feeling abt imsa cuz im worried that i might sound weird for liking orientation.

Hello, I am a co29 admit who wants to take a CAD course while at IMSA. I was wondering what CAD program the teachers have y'all use. At my previous high school I used Autodesk Inventor, so if anyone else has experience with Inventor and can tell me how different whatever program IMSA uses is, that would also be very appreciated. to cut to the chase i have heard other people say they took Spanish for 1 or 2 years but were then placed into another language because Spanish is competitive. So i wanted to know how the test works and what i might me placed because i have taken Spanish 2.

is it possible they i may be stuck in spanish 2 next year instead of going to spanish 3.

what are the chances of be not making either spanish 2 or Spanish 3 and what should i do because i feel im too far stuck in a hole to switch languages now.

I accepted the offer to attended IMSA next year and was exited for the opportunity, but i‘m still worried about a few things I was hoping I could get answers to.

1.if i already accepted am i forced to go.

1. how much time do you spend studying.

2. looking at niche reviews ive seen many people say they were happy to leave because the administration sucks and the teachers give out a limited amount of A’s and dont help student.

4.is it really helpful for my college admissions.

5.i have a perfect gpa right now and want to know how badly IMSA will hurt it and how colleges will view it.

How strict are they with the list of dorm furniture and cooking appliances? IE chair, 22" monitor, 3'x3' bookshelf?

Most of the monitors now are 27" and the orientation had parents talking about how great the air fryer was but those are listed as banned in the handbook.

I was wondering whats on each of the math placements— is it like personalized from whatever we submitted on the form or is it just a general test they give out to everyone?

Also for chem is there any material thats provided (like a periodic table and stuff)

i am a waitlisted eighth grader, and imsa requires waitpool to take the placement test too apparently so here i am. ive dug around and seen that all the classes you can get into are pretty good, but id still like some advice on what to brush up upon because i dont want to make a fool of myself by "flunking" it. im not going to full on study, just review some stuff because im a forgetful person.. since im an eighth grader i havent covered many obscure topics. ive taken algebra 1, algebra 2 (outside of school and it was a while back, which is why im a bit nervous about these topics) and geometry this year. im aware that my math experience is quite average for an imsa application- does anybody know what i should take a look at for my level? its a slim chance ill get pulled as an eighth grader and i dont want to get some insane placement, just want to be prepared. thank you!!

a few additional questions- i saw someone saying that if you havent taken a calculus course, you dont have to take the second section of the exam, is this true? and is getting placed into mathematical investigations (1 or 2) as a freshman "bad"?

I know confirmations were due last Friday. Wondering if anyone heard anything yet about being pulled from the wait pool. Anyone from wait pool last year have any insight? It would be really tough to have to wait all the way until move in day. That would be the first day of high school over here.
