Dark Knight of Steel is an Elseworlds comic book series that presents a medieval fantasy version of heroes like Superman, Aquaman, Green Arrow, and so on.

However, I honestly feel it’s a missed opportunity that we don't have this universe's versions of the Hawks since medieval versions of them, The Silent Knight and Lady Celie, actually exist. Man, I think it would be fun to bring them into the story; does anyone else feel the same way?

As we know, in the DCU, Kendra ended up killing that dictator from the Superman movie; this sparked a lot of debate about whether it was right or wrong I won't get into that here but a common talking point is people saying they see no issue with Hawkgirl killing someone because the Hawks don't have a "no-kill" rule.

While I don't have a problem with the idea of Kendra killing, context matters. The truth is, as far as I recall, Kendra never killed anyone in the comics. In fact, there was an entire story arc in Hawkman 2002 issue 12-13,

where she tracked down her mother's killer and wanted to kill him; Hawkman tried to stop her from being consumed by vengeance, and in the end, she chose not to kill him she even stopped Hawkman from doing it.

He ended up dying by Gentleman Ghost, Kendra was actually happy for her parent now can rest but, also angry for end that way.

I consider that a fundamental arc for Kendra because it establishes her moral stance: while she won't weep for a villain, she learned self-control and realized that—even with a just cause—taking a life has consequences (like the example in the story where Nighthawk killing Gentleman Ghost inadvertently created a villain).

She can't just kill whenever she feels like it. That’s why I can't imagine Kendra—post-arc— simply playing out that scene from the Superman movie: storming the office, grabbing a villian, and dropping him to his death with a smile on her face.

Of course, these are different versions, and perhaps this will lead to an arc, but it seems people have simply accepted that Kendra is someone willing to kill without hesitation, and that worries me. Hawkman already has a reputation for killing without mercy (which isn't actually true), and I’m afraid Kendra might end up with the same.
