Discussion [Comic Issue Discussion] Gargoyles/Darkwing Duck #4: Who Is the Whackest Of Them All...?

Writer: Greg Weisman, Tad Stones

Artist: Ciro Cangialosi

Editor: Nate Cosby

Logline:

POP GOES THE WORLD! Time has run out for the stalwart champions of New York City and St. Canard, as Demona unleashes the diabolical Paddywhack from his jack-in-the-box confinement and directs him to destroy all of humanity — and all of duckdom as well, just for good measure! Can Goliath and Darkwing hold Paddywhack at bay long enough for reinforcements to arrive in the form of Gosalyn, Launchpad, Morgana, and the rest of Manhattan Clan? And even if they do, will all of their combined strength be enough to overcome Demona’s Quackronomicon-enhanced chaos?

Find out in the explosive finale that is Gargoyles/Darkwing Duck #4 — energetically encoded by creative companions GREG WEISMAN, TAD STONES, and CIRO CANGIALOSI, with properly portentous covers provided by STONES, CANGIALOSI, CARLO LAURO, and IVAN BIGARELLA!

Discussion [Comic Issue Discussion] Gargoyles/Darkwing Duck #3

Writer: Greg Weisman, Tad Stones

Artist: Ciro Cangialosi

Editor: Nate Cosby

Logline:

DEMONA WILL MAKE SURE THIS CAGED DUCK SINGS!

The creators of the original Gargoyles and Darkwing Duck animated series return for the second installment of their hotly anticipated comics crossover adventure!

With Darkwing's magical amour Morgana Macawber now in Demona's clutches, it's a race against time for the Terror That Flaps in the Night to locate the two sorceresses before Morgana is coerced into revealing the location of the sinister spell book known as the Quackronomicon - and thus handing Demona the keys to world domination! But DW won't get far without Elisa and Goliath's help - and the head of the Manhattan Clan is down for the count until sunset. With half a day of downtime to contend with, can this unlikely trio of heroes crack the case before Morgana cracks under Demona's interrogation? And while we're on the subject, what have Launchpad and Gosalyn been doing all this time?

The answers to these and many more burning questions will be revealed in the portent-filled pages of Gargoyles/Darkwing Duck #2 - crafted by tandem authors GREG WEISMAN and TAD STONES and artist CIRO CANGIALOSI, and enriched by hand-carved covers from STONES, CANGIALOSI, CLAYTON HENRY, and IVAN BIGARELLA!

Thought this ad would be appreciated here. Face reminds me a bit of Hudson's or Broadway's.

Discussion Name a anime/manga verse where Goliath & the Manhattan Clan would do well in or at least make it interesting.

The Manhattan Clan would thrive in the Durarara!! universe, which is a perfect fit for their gritty, urban-fantasy style. Set in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, it blends street-level gang warfare, supernatural legends, and shady megacorporations, providing the exact type of morally complex setting where Goliath’s clan and their modern-day allies excel

Discussion So which Member of the Manhattan Clan you Think deserve there own Comic Miniseries? Discussion

Post image

That is my Question

I been wondering this since the last comic miniseries about Demona miniseries

I know Brooklyn seems like the most obvious because of the TimeDancer stuff which should be its own comic Maxi-series really or even a 25 issue comic for at least 60% of the story

But other then him who else?

For me I really wanna see Hudson I know Dark Ages was kinda tha but I really wanna see him in present day story in one of those 'I Still go it" stories but maybe to carry continuity with Dark Ages they should bring Drew Moss to draw it as soon his finished with Thundercats stuff

But that's me what are your Ideas?

Discussion What did Fox mean about Nietzsche being “too butch”?

I’m referring to the scene in “Leader of the Pack” where Fox is reading philosophy books in her prison cell. I know her mention of Kafka references “The Metamorphosis,” but I don’t know anything about Nietzsche.

Discussion Which Gargoyles villain You think Would make a Good Lead for a Solo Comic Miniseries?

Post image

That is my Question & Fallow-up to previous threads

Well as you obviously know Gargoyles has a lot of cool & Great villains after Demona with that & Disney Villains Comics makes me wonder

So my Question is what do you think would make a good lead for you what Gargoyles Villains you think would be a good lead for a solo comic miniseries

Don't pick anyone who more or an Anti Hero then a Villain I know telling those two apart sometimes is hard but please make sure

So What is Your Idea?

While searching for other stuff, I found this one.

Starring Guests of Honor Greg Weisman, Zehra Fazal, Jennifer L Anderson, Thom Adcox-Hernandez, and Brigitte Bako; along with Windy Bowlsby and Christopher Jones; plus a number of CONvergence attendees that auditioned on the day!"

Voices from the Eyrie - 73 - Hunter's Moon Part Two - An Insiders' Discussion with Diedrich Bader (voice of Jason Canmore), Scott Cleverdon (voice of Jon Canmore), Jamie Thomason (Voice Director), and Greg Weisman (Series Creator)

Post image
39 Upvotes

We are joined by Diedrich Bader and Scott Cleverdon—the voices of Jason and Jon Canmore—along with returning guests Jamie Thomason and series creator Greg Weisman to discuss the penultimate episode of the canonical animated series. From the Goliath, Elisa, and Hunter love triangle to the destruction of the Clock Tower, we examine the episode’s voice acting, animation, storyboarding, and the sublime script by the late, great Michael Reaves.

Along the way, we also explore Diedrich and Scott’s careers: how they each found their way into acting and voice acting, how Diedrich deliberately played against type in his portrayal of Jason Canmore, and how Scott views acting not simply as a career but as a way of life and a philosophy—from growing up in Scotland to moving to Los Angeles and eventually Madrid, saving Tim Curry’s life along the way, discussing everyone’s Scottish accents, voicing Carnage in Spider-Man the Animated Series, and sharing memories of a boldly political T-shirt once worn by Marina Sirtis.

Throughout it all, we also pay tribute to Jamie Thomason, one of the unsung heroes behind Gargoyles.

I have been searching for a while on and off. And I cannot find the radio play of the crossover with Team Atlantis. The wiki states its somewhere. On youtube I can find the crossover with Spiderman. But not the one with Team Atlantis. Does anyone know/have a video/link if it exists at all?

Discussion The writing is just mind blowing

I've watched this Live as a kid but now as a 40 year old dude hitting his vape trying to wind down before bed to start the next dam adult I see how great the stories are. How deep they are from the Gun going off Episode the Pack episode to now a long way to morning Just amazing ideas. Watching the flashbacks how they work with each other. Once again I am 40 I am not some old school warrior but I have woken up some days with dreams of old dreams and I also have been that young dude that wants to impress the old guys so i feel this episode both ways now

Discussion Are there any works of fantasy like Gargoyles about supernatural creatures and beings fighting crime and saving muggle lives?

So I know most masquerade fantasy like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson usually keeps the magical and muggle worlds separate for one reason or another meaning that the wizards and demigods aren’t allowed to use their powers to help ordinary people.

But in Gargoyles the Manhattan clan makes it their mission to protect and serve the people of New York City.

And that got me thinking.

Are there any works of fantasy like Gargoyle about supernatural creatures and beings fighting crime and saving muggle lives? The closest ones I can think of besides Gargoyles are the Secret Saturdays and one episode of Trollhunters involving Jim stopping a crime ring.
