Dasher kept knocking after I said to stop, just feeling bad about the whole situation

I ordered a cupcake today because I’m on work calls all day, I have it set to leave at door. I live alone as a young woman in an apartment in nyc. The dasher arrives and rings the doorbell, I don’t answer because I’m listening to a call, he rings again. I realize he’s not going away so I go and turn off the camera quickly and run to open the door and he hands me the bag. He kind of looked at me weird (but could be my imagination) I say thank you! And close the door and put the cupcake down and hurry back over. A minute later I’m set to speak, and he rings the doorbell. As I’m speaking on camera he continually keeps ringing the doorbell, I mute myself and say “I’m on a work call?” And the guy goes “open the door” and begins POUNDING like two firsts pounding. At this point I’m just scared in general, because I unfortunately have been attacked before in nyc two years ago and have anxiety, so I’m on the verge of tears. I tell him please go away and he keeps pounding saying “I need something from you,” I just go mute and stop reacting and then I get a call from my front desk, they tell me he is downstairs and needs a photo of the order. I tell them to tell him to just take a picture of anything and I’ll make him five stars I just don’t want him to come back up. They tell me he’s freaking out and they don’t know what to do so they send him back up against my will. At this time I’m chatting with support who’s confusing me because they’re saying not to answer the door. I put the bag outside my door and he takes a photo.

I feel bad about the situation because I did not know he wanted a photo, but also I really think DoorDash should make it so there’s some other way to mark it as handed off or something else. I now look like a terrible person to my front desk and the guy because I wouldn’t open the door but I was genuinely scared. I just wish this wasn’t a thing. I’ve had a couple of weird experiences lately with services in nyc and it’s getting me down. Can’t even eat the cupcake because I feel like trash

I look insane. 🤣

I had taken the ice cream from him but he needed proof. So he snapped a photo and I tried to smile. Anyway. Can't stop laughing. I even tried really hard and walked away thinking, "I got this." My husband showed me the horror after gleefully laughing in the corner. I literally am cackling. Got my dairy queen nonetheless.

To the very kind and awesome doordasher, I swear I am sane and kind once you know me 🤷‍♀️ 🤣

This company is absolute trash

I just watched a driver take a picture of my food on my doorstep, pick it up, and walk off with it back to their car.

This was caught on my ring camera, I sent the video proof to DoorDash…they declined to refund.

I realized this was probably an AI chat bot so I then called, just be told “sorry we can’t refund you” again.

I rarely use DoorDash. I think my last refund was like 3 years ago. I will never give another red cent to this company for the rest of my life. I’m cool with getting the food myself.

Not sure why DoorDash is now super rigid about refunds, but I imagine they will lose a lot of customers over this bs.

I’ve also read about how terribly they treat drivers, so just literally fuck this company all around.

I just wanted to post this to say fuck DoorDash 😅

I then proceeded to have to make 2 more substitutions. I am more butt hurt about the brussel sprouts.

Dasher was lowkey chill though.

Too many dashers but nobody picks anything up.

I have applied to be a dasher in my area and there are too many dashers and no slots available.

I’m sitting at work for the next 3 hours and I’m trying to order lunch from somewhere 2 minutes away (on the same road) with an 8 dollar tip and nobody is picking it up. Would you pick this up? Why or why not?

Random People delivering orders

Upvotes

I have been doordashing food to my house somewhat regularly these last couple weeks. I experienced some car issues, and unfortunately don’t know many people in the area. Nor do I really enjoy asking for help anyways.

I’ve noticed that more often than not the person delivering my food is not the person shown on the app. Now you might ask how would I know? Generally there isn’t a detailed driver profile like Uber. But if the “dasher” is named something like Samantha and a burly gentleman is the person that exits the car to drop the food off. I can make a reasonable assumption that the person is in fact not Samantha.

What’s the big deal?
I believe drivers are vetted for a reason. It is kind of uncomfortable to have an unknown person showing up to my house without any idea who they are or what their background is. I get it people need to make a living but at the same time I feel it’s reasonable to have the person who has been vetted and named in the app to be the person showing up.

Am I in the wrong for reporting this activity?

Anyone ready for Sephora day? I'll post if I get any. In my primary zone (downtown Washington DC) they'll usually bundle 2 or 3 orders together that comes out to $10 each. Not bad. I have a decent catering order to start the day, so I'm ready for any BS ☺️

Have a great day everyone!

Refund denied

Upvotes

My order was delivered to the wrong house. I reported through online support chat and they said they'd email me with a response. I immediately got an email saying my refund was denied. I called support and they just kept saying "it's been denied, there's nothing I can do." Like wtf, I never got my food!

Funniest DoorDash interaction I’ve had yet here in Vegas. Cool guy too threw me an extra $5 tip and got a little laugh in my day 😎

My sister just started DoorDash and she messaged me this asking what this is, told her it’s a scam. I’ve been a dasher for years and have never had a local number call me from DoorDash, the are code is always 855 or something 😂

Sephora Order - multiple dashers abandoning order after checkout?

Upvotes

Customer here - question for the dashers. My wife ordered Sephora today and three different times the dasher went to the store, got the items, checked out, and then the order reset looking for another shopper (specifically said another shopper is doing another order right now)

I've had to go to support three times who eventually just cancelled it and refunded the order with credits

What gives? Just wanted yall insight as dashers...I have a feeling they are just taking the items?

I don't wanna assume that but I just don't know how three diff times it says they got the items and checked out then never fulfilled the order

The Missing Milkshakes

Ok so this happened MONTHS AGO, but I'm ngl I'm still mad about it.

For context:

I was BIG PREGNANT, I was 8 months pregnant and had just come off the bed rest that started at 24 weeks. I was CRAVING a strawberry cheesecake milkshake from Sonic. So I ordered it.

The Dasher got lost in the apartment complex and called me, so I answered and did my best to give directions but he only really spoke Spanish and I only speak English. He hung up on me, I figured he'd found and a moment later I got a blurry picture of some buildings around the complex and the order was declared completed. So I opened the door to look and my milkshakes are no where to be found. I messaged him asking where he'd left them and got nothing for 20mins. So I went for a walk around the complex to look and see if I could find them. My dad joined me to make sure I didn't go into labor or anything. So then I messaged him again BEGGING for ANY information about where he dropped my order. The conversation pictured is what happened next.

I did report him to DoorDash customer service, and honestly had he been honest about what happened to start with I would have been fine letting it go but he LIED and ignored me! Smh.

Edit to add:

YES I WAS DRAMATIC. Like I said I was pregnant...like REALLY pregnant

Edit 2: Like I said, I saw a post here that reminded me of it and thought I'd share since that's the point of this place.

Edit 3: The problem isn't that he spilled my drinks, but that he didn't say anything about it for 20mins while I was messaging him BEGGING for ANY information about my order. Had he just owned up to his mistake like an adult(like many of you have been telling me to do) this entire post wouldn't exist.

Got wrong order but DoorDash refuses to compensate?

ive only made four orders on DoorDash so far.

my first order was a complete soaking mess. like there was taco innards and soup all over the bag and I was able to get a refund. Today I got a wrong order. I reached out to a rep and they said due to my account history I’m not eligible for compensation? why am I responsible for the dasher’s/restaurant’s mistake? can I ask for compensation only once within a certain time period?

Referral 2026.

This was meant to help anyone feeling discouraged or anxious about going forth with the DoorDash referral if they needed big bucks in a nick of time. My bf was very consistent with his deliveries. He never really turned one down, whether it was $2 or $22, and to me I thought that’s what being a good dasher meant. We used the funds made along the way for gas and kept going. We just moved to another state and we’d already had bills due before we settled… This was a gold nugget for us. Now we can get established and find work in our area because of it. I’m not a Pro Delivery driver or a DoorDash expert, but this is a convenient gig for us, not a career or even a full time job. However, I will continue to DoorDash no matter where I am and if I find another dedicated person, I’ll refer them too 🥰🥰🫶🏿

I need to know what I should do with this situation

Before I start, it wasn't a bad experience. Just a confused one. The DD dropped off my order. It was just 2 pizzas from little Caesars. Simple. When she came, there was 4 pizzas. I told her I ordered just 2,and she basically was well, it's your lucky day kinda response and left lol. I checked to see if I ordered more by accident, and I didn't. I was just charged as normal amount (I do this 4 times a month.) Should I call little Caesars and explain that I got 2 extras? I am a super honest kinda person, so this is gonna bother me for days...... I don't need the extra pizzas! Now I'mma have to make room in the fridge 🤦🏼‍♀️ I was thinking of offering it to others, but I don't know anyone well enough to feel comfortable doing that. And they wouldn't trust me enough to know I wouldn't do anything to the pizzas. What would you do?

DoorDash phone support for drivers is embarrassingly bad

Post image

First time calling in to support and I was on hold for nearly 40 minutes before I was finally connected to a support rep. The most annoying part was their looping background music is only about 30 seconds long and it always cuts out after it loops. It sounds like someone is picking up the call then It loops again

Johnny Rockets should at least remove toppings free of cost instead of an additional charge.

when you have an issue with your door dash order and call the customer service do you really think that the representative care about your issue?

Advice needed about how to get a refund back

Hi I recently placed an order from DoorDash and it got delivered to my house but the issue is I received someone else’s order and when I called support they said the system couldn’t process any refund or compensation and I requested to speak to a supervisor and I am still waiting to hear back but what should I do in order to get a refund?
