Hey (at)everyone,

Thank you for all the bugs you all have reported! We read all the posts in the thread and we’re focusing our efforts on issues based on upvotes to ensure that we’re aligned with all of you.

As always, don't forget to check out our monthly patch notes for updates on all the changes we're working on. Our last patch notes addressed 100+ issues!

Thanks to your reports on Reddit, we fixed the following issues:

  1. [iOS] Media picker stays open on iPad
  2. [Desktop] Text bar not auto focusing after replying
  3. [Chat] Double-tapping messages not working as intended
  4. [Linux] Screensharing on Linux is so back
  5. [Desktop] Recent activity not sharing

If we didn’t fix your issue, please make sure to upvote to help us prioritize 🙏

Now, with that, let’s kick off the June + July 2026 bug megathread!

Please note: This megathread is not a venue for feedback or customer support! We encourage you all to continue to make posts on the subreddit proper discussing our product and feature launches. I want to make sure that we really keep this thread productive and focused on reporting bugs and helping us prioritize them.

Please look through the list of comments and upvote bug reports which you think we should prioritize fixing. Comment as a reply to those top level comments with any more details that can assist our team in prioritizing and fixing the bug. For example, if you have additional info or steps to reproduce, please post a reply, this will help us fix these bugs even faster. If there is no post that discusses the bug you’re encountering, then start a new post in the thread to report the bug to us!

Reporting a Bug

  1. The most valuable thing you can provide in a bug report is steps. If you’re able to provide steps to reproduce a high priority issue, it will dramatically improve turnaround time on a fix.
  2. Screenshots or videos are also useful, especially if you can’t reliably reproduce it. We highly recommend editing them to not doxx yourself. Not only does it help contextualize the issue, but watching it occur can sometimes provide information that helps us identify and fix it.

Example Bug Report

  • Feature: Keybinds.
  • Reproduction Rate: 1 to 10 - This is a score of how easy/consistently the bug reproduces, from 1 meaning “very hard to reproduce” to 10 meaning “i can consistently make this happen”
  • Annoyance: 1 to 10 - How annoying is this bug to your daily usage of Discord, from 1 meaning, “not that annoying” to 10 meaning “this bug really truly sucks please fix this as soon as possible.”
  • Device/System Info: Pixel 7, Android 13
  • Discord Version Info: Stable 263796 (739ec78) Host 1.0.9032 x86 (43225) Windows 10 64-Bit (10.0.19045)
  • Description: Toggle Mute keybinds are no longer functioning.
  • Steps to reproduce:
  1. Create a keybind for “Toggle Mute”.
  2. Join a voice call with another user.
  3. Press the “Toggle Mute” button.
  • Expected Result: The user is muted.
  • Actual Result: The user is not muted.

Feedback Megathread Feedback thread: notifications

Hey y'all, our team is seeking feedback for notifications. We would love to get your thoughts.

What is it? We've made a lot of changes to notifications over the past year+, with the goal of getting friends to jump back into Discord and play games with their friends, check out each other's profiles, and generally be social with each other. We measure success by whether people are actually doing those things, and also by whether people keep their notifications on instead of turning them off.

Why? The team spends a lot of time thinking about the balance here: sending notifications that are useful and interesting enough that they might bring friends together, versus the "annoyance factor". That tradeoff is something we have a ton of data on, the thing we talk about internally constantly, and something we want to bring all of you in on. To that end, we've been getting a bunch of foundations in place:

  • Improved the organization of settings
  • Added more control over your settings
  • Made notifications more robustly respect things like guild and channel muting, age restrictions, blocks/mutes
  • Set global caps on how many notifications you can get

Now that we've built a number of new notifications on top of this system and gotten a lot of those foundations in, we wanted to open up the feedback firehose. Here's what we're looking for:

Bug reports / things that are clearly broken. The notification is:

  • Just wrong (says something happened that didn't, points at the wrong person or server, wrong count, etc.)
  • Sent at a weird or wrong time (way too late, middle of the night, for something you'd already seen, for a server or channel you'd muted)
  • Dropping you somewhere that isn't useful when you tap it (wrong channel, a screen with nothing relevant on it, a dead end)
  • If you can, tell us roughly when it happened and what you tapped. That helps a ton.

General feeling. Step back: how do you feel about the notifications you're getting overall?

  • Are they never useful, sometimes useful, or only useful for specific use cases? (by "use cases" we mean things like a friend hopping into a game, someone updating their profile, a friend coming back online, activity picking up in a server you're in, etc.)
  • If it depends on the use case, which ones land and which ones don't?
  • Was a notification too vague, or did it bring you somewhere you didn't expect when you tapped in? Did it set up an expectation it didn't deliver on?
  • Are there things happening on Discord that you wish you knew about but missed?
  • And if a notification actually got you to do something, like hop in a game, open a friend's profile, or jump back into a server, we'd love to hear that too, since that's exactly what we're going for

Settings. Now that there's more control and better organization:

  • Did you go looking for a setting and not find it, or not find it where you expected?
  • Anything you wish you could turn down or tune that you can't?

Annoyance feedback. Which notifications are annoying, and why?

  • Is it the type of notification itself?
  • How often it comes?
  • Does it feel creepy? (e.g. Discord shared too much of your activity or info out to other people without you realizing it, or you got more info about a friend than felt right)
  • The time of day?
  • The wording?
  • The fact that you got several in a row?
  • Hearing "I don't like X notification" isn't super useful to us. If you give us the whys we can better understand and respond to the feedback both directly and going forward as we build more notifications.

Appreciate any and all thoughts here. Fire away. I'll try to be in the comments but I expect y'all to overwhelm me haha.

Support Discord Steaming not working

Discord steaming currently displays a black screen and no audio. We've had 5 people in 2 different servers attempt and each returned a black screen. Something status-wise must be down. Not a bug.

Feature Requests is there ever going to be a solution to users evading blocks/ignores with pluralkit?

Upvotes

so this has been an issue for years and nothing seems to be changing, is it an issue with the architecture of the app? not being able to mute/block users using this app is kind of crazy, if i block/ignore the user all the “alters” or whatever should be blocked/ignored.

Support 5000 ms when I turn on laptop's hotspot

I normally play on my laptop but i've been playing some mobile games lately and my router is kinda far away from my device (my laptop is connected via ethernet) so whenever I play on phone I turn on the hotspot on my laptop.

The thing is, whenever I do this, discord starts showing 5000ms in the ping section but I can still hear my friends, but they can't hear me, and I have to reset the app everytime.

Has this ever happened to you? If so, how did you fix it?

Support Discord crashes and restarts infinitely

Discord opens, and then crashes after about a minute, I’ve clean reinstalled, restarted computer, done sfc scans, everything that I can find online and no matter what it still does it, and when I delete the folders from app data and local app data, it doesn’t crash until I login, and I’ve disabled hardware acceleration, along with updating my drivers all the way.

I’m at a loss here, it started in March, and occasionally did it off and on, but now it will not stop doing it no matter what.

Does anyone at all have any ideas?? I’m about to give up entirely.

Support Wordle at multiple servers

I play Wordle through the discord activity, and have been regularly playing with one group of friends. Recently, a friend outside of my group wanted to do Wordle with me in DMs, but my progress doesn't seem to transfer at all with the friend group when I'm playing in DMs.

Am I missing something or do I really have to choose where my Wordle progress goes? I would much prefer if my progress was posted in BOTH channels, is there a setting for this?

Support Is it a bug or am I missing something?

So I got a small community server for gaming and I now tried many many times to create an unlimited/ unexpirable invite link but it still does not work if I paste it for example in my steam bio

It does not even give a specific error, it just says the link is not valid

I tried to generate new ones, set it again to unlimited etc. but still the same problem
sometimes it worked but then after some time it was again not working even though it had no time limit?
It’s really frustrating since I missed many opportunities like that to let my community grow so my question is has anyone else experienced this or can help?
Appreciate it

Discord stream is turning black + losing audio every few seconds if host is not constantly updating stream (moving her mouse), any ideas on how to fix this?

Support How does one make the Windows app quiet, now and forever.

Simply put, how does one make the Windows app STFU?!?!

I want silence out of this bitch.

Need to install an update? Fine, give me a progress bar. Don’t open a txt file and URL with the release notes.

Stop with pop ups, stealing my keyboard focus and annoying the shit out of me.

No, I am not interested in custom avatars, or any other crap gamers with disposable income buy.

Like how do you tell it I want to run in “adult” mode as in non-gamer, non-XXX?

Support How do I make this message go away forever?

Post image

I was made a mod on a server. This message will now not disappear. It is blocking 40% of my screen and can not be closed. I do not want to multi factor authenticate. I do not want to take any moderator actions.

How do I make this prompt disappear forever?
