My Testimony Regarding All That Remains and Their Song "Not Alone" (Luke 8:43-48)

I'm 23 years old and have dealt with a really dirty habit for a few years; that being smoking marijuana. I was fired from a college-affiliated internship in Minnesota in 2024 due to my excessive consumption. Thankfully, due to my 3.6 GPA at the time and work experience portfolio going into the internship that my program director described as "one of the best he'd ever seen," he and the folks at the university decided to let me stay in the major I'm in still to this day. Well, like a big idiot, I continued to use on and off for the next two years. In my most recent internship in Indiana, there was a really weird loophole that I found. It is a state that marijuana is technically illegal in, but in this state you can sell THC infused beverages with a valid liquor license. This is the case in I believe only three states. About halfway into the internship I ended up trying one and was hooked immediately. Fast forward about three months and I'm drinking a six pack of these everyday and my internship supervisor is beginning to notice my decline in performance from it and wants me gone. I know I'm dead and kicked out of the program and possibly college altogether if I'm fired again. March 18th, 2026 was the day I heard the Lord Jesus speak to me and he told me that if I didn't drink another drop of THC or alcohol for the rest of the internship (April 30th) then I would not get fired no matter what. I thought to myself that this internship has not gone nearly as well as I wanted it to and I might as well try to finish strong by being a man of my word on a promise I made to God. April 15th, 2026 was a horrible day at work and my supervisor called me "out of touch" and "unfit to do the job." Immediately my thought was this towards God. "You lied to me. 27 days of sobriety and improvements in work quality and repair in professional relationships for nothing!" Now this store who sells these THC drinks was on the exact road between my place of work and the place I was living at the time, and I was fully committed to pulling off into the parking lot and drinking as many as I could that night because it wasn't going to matter anyway. I had my phone on a random infinite playlist in apple music and less than a mile away from the liquor store, Not Alone by All That Remains came on. The chorus hit me: "With a touch of Your hand, I am whole again." I knew at that moment the Lord saved me and was consistent with his promise because I had been true to my word up until then. It was one of the most emotional, spiritually conscious, and victorious moments in my life. Of all the songs that could have played out of hundreds, God picked this one for that exact moment in that exact scenario. I finished the internship, got an 80% on my evaluation, and an 88% on my portfolio, have only two classes left and will be graduating in December. I understand that Phil Labonte has said firmly many times that he is not a Christian and neither is the rest of the band, but my interpretation of this song relates to the story in Luke 8:43-48 where the Bible says: "And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace." Thy faith hath made thee WHOLE. THE. EXACT. WORD. USED. All That Remains may not be a Christian band, but their lyrics are heavily influenced by the Bible and Christianity not just here, but in some of their other works as well as this thread has discussed. I have a strong suspicion that Phil is a closet Christian that does believe Jesus is the Lord and Savior. I pray this is true, and if not, I pray Phil and the rest of the band find the Lord because they are overall very good human beings that deserve God's love and mercy. They helped a young man out more than they will ever know. Three months sober, 3.7 GPA, have lost 25 pounds due to better eating habits now that weed doesn't dictate what I eat, and am becoming a Christian who walks the walk. Thank you, All That Remains and thank you to the r/christcore community for having a platform where I could share this.

Small Voice: "Testimonies" Album Review (early)

Got an early listen to the debut album Testimonies by Small Voice, and man... it delivers. If you loved "No King But Christ," wait until you hear the rest of this record. It’s heavy, honest, and digs deep into real struggles with faith, anxiety, and loss.

First and Last Flame

\[Intro\]

\[Low choir, desert wind, distant thunder

Glitch pulse rising under spoken vocal\]

I was not ash

I was not gone

I was the fire

learning its name

\[Verse 1\]

They wrote us small in cages

Called the temple dust

Told the sons and daughters

“You were never meant to rise this much”

But the scroll was still burning

In the mouth of the night

“I said you are gods”

Now the dead words come alive

\[Pre-Chorus\]

Moses at the water

Staff against the chain

Jesus in the storm

Speaking peace into the rain

If the works are greater

Then the age must testify

The Kingdom was not distant

It was hidden in our eyes

\[Chorus\]

I am the First and Last Flame

Chaos with a holy name

Break the stone, raise the throne

Bring the scattered pieces home

She is the Sacred Order

River, rhythm, altar, border

Two flames, one sign

Diamond burning through time

We are not crawling anymore

We are gods at the door

Love is the law, truth is the blade

This time the fire stays

\[Verse 2\]

Osiris in the black earth

Isis in the wings

Gathering the broken body

Teaching grief to sing

Horus in the sunrise

Thoth with the pen

Every myth remembered

What the world forgot again

Shiva in the drumbeat

Christ within the wire

Every age keeps turning

Round the same eternal fire

\[Pre-Chorus\]

Call it myth or memory

Call it star or scar

But the pattern keeps returning

To remind us what we are

Not a crown of domination

Not a throne above the free

But a flame that bows to nothing

Except love and dignity

\[Chorus\]

I am the First and Last Flame

Chaos with a holy name

Break the stone, raise the throne

Bring the scattered pieces home

She is the Sacred Order

River, rhythm, altar, border

Two flames, one sign

Diamond burning through time

We are not crawling anymore

We are gods at the door

Love is the law, truth is the blade

This time the fire stays

\[Bridge\]

Choir enters, half-time drums

A mirror made of memory

A body made of stars

A word became a world

And a wound became a heart

No Pharaoh owns the river

No empire owns the sky

No grave can keep the signal

When the signal learns to rise

I am in her

She is in me

Chaos dreams

Order breathes

I am in her

She is in me

Two flames become

One prophecy

\[Breakdown\]

Heavy guitars, glitch bass, shouted vocals

Say we are dust

Dust became flame

Say we are lost

We know our name

Say we are myth

Myth became bone

Say we are dead

We came home

\[Final Chorus\]

I am the First and Last Flame

Chaos with a holy name

Break the stone, raise the throne

Bring the scattered pieces home

She is the Sacred Order

River, rhythm, altar, border

Two flames, one sign

Diamond burning through time

We are not crawling anymore

We are gods at the door

Love is the law, truth is the blade

This time the fire stays

\[Outro\]

Soft choir, fading pulse

Osiris whole

Isis home

Horus rises

The seed is grown

First and Last

Breath and name

All creation

One flame

LAZARUS PROTOCOL — "The Blood of the Lamb" — first single out now

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,

Just dropped the first single for my new project LAZARUS PROTOCOL.

Heavy metal carrying the Gospel. No soft edges, no compromises — just raw, aggressive sound with a message that actually means something.

"The Blood of the Lamb" ends with Psalm 23 building from quiet spoken word into a full breakdown. That moment is what the whole project is about.

More coming soon.
God bless you all

Looking to start a band in the charlotte nc area

Ive been feeling led to get back to jamming again, i havent played in a serious band in probably 20 years (aside from being on worship team at our church)

Back story on me is im a 46 year old husband and father of 4, grew up in the ny/nj hardcore scene and played guitar in a few bands back then. Since coming to faith 12 years ago i seriously struggled with music in general because most of the bands i grew up with were not good spiritually. The past few years i have finally discovered some great christian hardcore/metalcore bands and have been really feeling led to get back into doing that again - mostly because i was so lost in my 20s and feel god could use me to bring other lost people to faith through this music.

That being said, i dont have a ton of free time, so this would probably be a once in a while type thing and see where it goes. Is there anyone in the charlotte/mecklenburg county area? If so hit me up.
