I'll delete this later if the situation changes, but if anyone was curious about the official Yen Press translation / hasn't read it yet at all, they seem to have released the English official translation on the Amazon Kindle app as well as Rakuten's Kobo (you might need to change your country at the top if it doesn't autoupdate) for 0 moneys on any currency. Can't tell if it's on that emaqi site as it's US only so I can't access it to check. The other links as of writing this are coming up blank. Update: It's available on Apple Books too now at least in Europe.
No idea if this is intended or not but, yes, the first chapter seems to not have a cost for now š¤·āāļø
Edit: leaving the link for the Yen Press site itself since it has more links and they might be live later/at some point, but keep in mind the Amazon one goes to .com so if your account isn't on the US site you need to manually look for it https://yenpress.com/titles/9798855450620-bungo-stray-dogs-the-day-i-took-in-dazai-chapter-1

Im going to Yokohama and was wondering if there's any things I should be mindful of as i wanted to cosplay maybe chuuya or dazai there. Like do i change in a toliet near the location and avoid cosplay in trains things like that. Of course to be respectful and not to disturb anyone I was thinking of just taking pictures with my friends at yamashita park and near the pier. Just worried that's all. Thank you for the help in advance

Ok so we all know hes basically impossible to defeat between his genuis and his way to slip out of any situation miraculously(totally not plot armed) but i figured out the one way that would beat dazai.
first you have to take him but make it look like he was trying to commit again that is important for later. after getting him make sure he thinks he is control because if he thinks he is he is technically docile. after that trap him in a blank white room with nothing but white. give him food 5-8 times each day at different times to make him think that he can count when each day passes. on the second day put an invisible no smell gas or even just any gas that makes it hard for him to think then on third take him out and you can completely dismantle him. now for ada. the first day youre fine because they will think dazai is out trying to commit or something, 2nd they get s bit worried ranpo will also start getting worried and might try figuring out. if he does find out by day 2 thats fine as he still has to get to the building which is in a different continent. by the third ranpo is either just arriving or has just figured out, by time they arrive you have dismantled dazai ahd you can kill him which will be bad because of ada will find you. or leave him afetr giving him a sedative but make sure anything you do has nothing to do with your organization or can identify you really. and then technically you didnt kill him so you should be fine once they get him. theres still a chance you might get found but you should be safe. Also keep in mind it is underground and multiple stories so poe cant use his ability because they dont know which floor or that there are multiple floors(until ranpo finds out that there are multiple floors.) [Heh not part of the plan but even funnier ive only read the anime]

āRomanji: Rinju
āKana majiribun: čØēµ

ćRinjuć
The autumn sky is a dull, slate gray,
Like the glint in a black horseās eye.
Water dries up, lily flowers fallā
Ah, how empty my heart has become.
With no god and no guide to follow,
A woman has passed away near the window.
The white sky has gone blind,
The white wind is biting cold
When she used to wash her hair by the window,
Her arms were so gentle.
The morning sun was spilling down,
The sound of water was dripping.
The towns are bustling with noise,
The voices of children entangle.
Be that as it mayā
What will become of this soul?
Will it fade away and become empty space?
oh god this one was a bitch to track down. (They all were lmao) But i think this is the one .
Source is the website provided, scroll down till ya find "deathbed" https://tsukiyonokarasu.com/originaltext/yagi-no-uta/
If you want to hear it read normally (which helped me confirm it was in fact the poem) here it is https://youtu.be/prW0lr6gaxU?si=fhtUcXL1DlyUjWCR
Funny thing, i would put the original name in a translator
Find poems matching it
Then find their kana majiribun equivalent, copy and paste into youtube
Then add chuya's name in the same format to try and find it
Its worked for the most part
My recommendations are now a good chunk of japanese stuffs i dont understand, but i cant say i dont like it
Its not bad
Not at all
ā my thoughts
I quite like this one
The poem starts off with a very solemn opening, then next it shows us vivid imagery of a gentle woman and a peek into the life shes lived
And then the end, it implies to ask if her life even meant anything. The world will continue without her, what will become of her when her memory dies out?
The imagery of the lilly flowers immediately made me think of a funeral and the flowers on a casket, but also the metaphor for how life is like a flower. Its fragile, delicate and utterly precious, but eventually it will wilt. Its born, it blooms, then it dies. Even the prettiest ones.
The dark autum sky also reminds me of a funeral, but also of a lonely scene in the park. Its utterly empty. There is nothing there. The trees are bare. The grass is dead. Its cold, colder than it should be. And on a bench is one singular person. Mourning something pointless.
The cold imagery is further pushed when the poem starts talking about "the white wind is biting cold"
The white sky, the white wind, i think they tie back to the lily flower.
Representing an innocence thats untainted. A life that lived without leaving a stain behind. No marks. A blank canvas thats very easy to forget.
She was unremarkable, but gentle.
And the picture we get when the woman is described while alive, it has to be my favourite
Shes not doing anything important
Its so incredibly mundane
Its a very interesting choice, because of all things to remember, whyd you remember her washing her hair? Or her gentle arms?
I like to think that its a reminder that its not the grand achievements that make us
Its not the career we persue
Its not the success we strive after
But rather the many small things that form us
And even if no one is to remember you after your passing
If the life youve lived was fulfilling to yourself, the legacy you leave behind doesnt matter
Back to the song itself though
Can i just say how good it is?
The little bells we hear throughout kind of reminds me of kitsunes and tori gates
Which are commonly associated with the afterlife
My favourite part is where the song ends by fading out softly (the fading lasts an entire minute or so)
The only way i can coherently describe this is that the song is a bright intense star, but eventually it dies out like a soft flickering candle
Much like the woman's life
I also very much like the backup singers who hum in the background, its very haunting
And can i just say that i also love how kazuki tomokawa performs these? I feel he was possessed by chuya himself or something
It just fits so well
You can tell that he put lots of care into what he created
out of all the poems this is among my favs
im excited for the 7th one and youll see why eventually

People!!! I have a theory I might just be crazy tho!
So we know how Chuuya's code name is A5158 and then that got me thinking that what if this is foreshadowing of how many people he loses in the future!! Think about it!!!!
So we have the A in the name, that leads to the Arahabaki incident when he was 15 and he lost the Sheep.
The next one is the number 5, how many people were in the Flag? 5! And he lost them! (Sorry)
Next is the 1, that signals to when Dazai left the Port Mafia!
So if all this crazy bullshit is true then in the future at one point he's gonna lose 5 people and then 8 people that he cares about!!
Our poor baby Chuuya is gonna suffer so much!!ššš

Does it bother anyone else that while the agency is being framed for terrorism and all the shit thatās going down, nobody is like, āhey whereās Dazai, I hope heās alright?ā
Like why do they just pretend like he never existed? Itās kind of frustrating to me. I know theyāre fighting for their lives and freedom but stillš they also just completely abandoned atsushi and kyoka.
Nobody knows or even wonders where Dazai is until Mori tells Yosano in EP 45

From what Iāve seen so far, Iāve quite liked the character; perhaps it also helps that I understand the trauma heās been through, which will shape his choices. So, as I donāt know what happens beyond season 3 yet, has the writer ruined his character, or do people simply disagree with Atsushi?
