I made this one some years ago (2019)

I got hold of 5 used shelfs

And merged them together into one unit.

With the help of some homemade moldings.

I didnt built it all the way up to the roof because i wanted a good space for my cats to sleep and look down on us.

Hi all! I have sort of a unique request. Unfortunately my grandma was diagnosed with extensive small cell lung cancer and we are not sure how much time we have left with her. Her favorite book is Jane Eyre. As you can see on my bookshelf I have 2 copies on the first shelf to the right and then the first book on the second shelf as well. I have three other beautiful copies not on the bookshelf but my goal is to have a whole shelf dedicated to Jane Eyre. Does anyone have any copies with unique covers they would like to sell to me? I’m happy to pay for the book and shipping costs.

The bookshelf is not organized yet and honestly I know I have to actually organize all my bookshelves. I will do that when I have more time in my life, probably like a month from now. I am just really proud that I built this shelf and it honestly came out really nice.

I have not read the majority of books on this shelf but most were found at used bookstores. Feel free to ask about my shelves and I promise I will post better photos in a month or so

I mostly “read” audiobooks, so my physical book collection is still a work in progress.

But other than adding more books over time, anything you’d change? These are the backdrop for my husband and me when we’re working from home.

Been watching a lot of home library tours on youtube the past couple days and it made me wanna reorganize our shelves. Not much to work with, but it should be a fun project for an hour or two. Might dig some other books out of the garage, if I can find em! If yall have any ideas/suggestions for a way to mix up the displays, lemme know!

Just moved into my new house; what do we think of my bed frame shelf arrangement?

The 4th bookcase is now up and assembled. Reorganization of the books on top of the assembly about destroyed my back lol… but it was worth it! A good night’s sleep helped to heal me. Now it’s on to organizing my non-folio books including most of my fiction! Hope you all enjoy! 🍻

Cant believe a subreddit for bookshelves exisits. Have been looking for a place like this for a long time.

the first two pictures might have been taken last year, and i have since accumulated a lot more books, but this is the state of my ‘bookshelf’. it is literally just two of the shelving slots on the side of my bunk bed. this is the worst possible place to keep books because they go up so high and constantly fall on me and it is just a pain when i am trying to get one out to read it. now that i no longer have a bunk bed and am not sharing a room with my sister, i have space for a REAL bookshelf!!
its been my dream since i was a kid to have one so i really want one that will last me a long time. i am completely new to this, so i will accept any recommendations unless it is a metal bookshelf because thats not my kind of thing.

all the furniture in my new room is white ish (which is not what i would’ve chose for myself but while i still live at home it’s not really my choice to make). tbh i wouldn’t want to get a white bookshelf because ive always been a fan of pretty dark wood shelves, but if you think that will stand out weirdly in my room pls let me know!

I recently was able to move these brown cubes into my room but I’m unsure where they should go. The window faces east but only sees the sun itself for maybe an hour or two every morning. I’ve lived here two months and I’ve kept it open the entire time for my cat to lay in her hammock. Closing it isn’t really an option for me unfortunately, it’s the only place she lays.

But now I’ve got to decide whether to keep it opposite the window, or rearrange the other side of my room (i.e.: unpack all my vinyl and the rest of my books) and put them next to my small loveseat and my other shelves. I want to avoid direct sunlight if possible but I’m unsure if that just means light in general or specifically the sun itself being visible.

Any advice / knowledge would be greatly appreciated!

I need to buy another one at some point.
