I found this youtube channel that's putting out fake, AI-generated boogie tracks... and I hate that some of them are actually quite good...

This was the first one I heard, and still by far my favorite one (the piano stings and harmonic fills are so good, man o man):

Dufflecoat - I Can't Love You Anymore (1981)

Originally came up in my recommended videos on the home page and I'm embarrassed to say I had no idea it was AI just from listening to it. (To be clear: obviously the "album cover" is extremely AI-generated; and the artist name is transparently anachronistic.) But just from listening to the track itself in the background, I didn't know. I only started digging into the comments because the production sounded a little too "clean", so I checked the description to see if what I was hearing came from a modern producer. Womp womp.

One of the worst things about this channel is the owners putting fake years in the video titles, which is extremely disingenuous; I think I'd be less inclined to hate on the concept if they weren't being actively deceptive with it. There is at least 1-2 other channels in this same genre doing the same thing, as well.

Anyways I have to admit I'm surprised at just how good these imitations are -- I thought I was enough of a connoisseur of the original genre to immediately spot AI slop. Curious to hear how obvious this is to the rest of you guys.

This song though...makes me euphoric. I hope each and everyone of you find your true companion to embark on a deeply meaningful, spiritually transformative journey <3
