Question Tom Keene
Anyone else get annoyed with how Tom Keene phrases questions and responses. So many prepositions. He sounds like a sports caster talking about finance.

There have been a decent uptick in "can you send me this data for xyz excuse" posts. The mod queue catches a lot of requests, but from here on out, no more. It's a violation of the ToS for the license holder to give out this data, and it's not helpful to the sub. This is not a sub to do your homework for you.
If you already asked the help desk then ask away - but asking for raw data, no more. Asking for help to get an Excel formula so you can get the data with your own license, that's fine as far as I know. But raw data, off limits from here on out.

So word at the water cooler is that once Mike Bloomberg retires, he's giving the LP to Bloomberg Philanthropies who can only legally have it under their umbrella for 6 years because of tax purposes, and after that they have to sell the terminal/product and news divisions. But the news side has historically never been profitable, the news division spends the money that the terminal side make so product subsidies it. So the rumor is the buyer may just take the Bloomberg Product and leave News on the table. And without the terminal the news side doesn't have "exclusive market info" so essentially they'd be another WSJ or CNBC, if they even survive.
Knowing all this and after mike announced plans to step down last year, the news division has been chaotic this year and people are quitting left and right.
It's become a hostile hunger games within the news org. We'll see how long it lasts.

I have subscribed to Bbg terminal for about 7 years. My keyboard is getting a bit dirty and some of the keys are a bit sticky. Will Bloomberg charge me if I want to get it replaced?

Where is Matt Miller from Bloomberg Open Interest? Haven't seen him in the morning for a couple weeks- has he moved to another show?
It's only been Dani Burger and Vonnie Quinn, I'm really hoping he hasn't been replaced. I miss my elder millennial comments in the a.m.

Hi everyone,
Since the beginning of this month, we've been seeing a significant increase in "N/A Review" errors when downloading Bloomberg data into Excel from our public/multi-user terminals.
The "N/A Review" error indicates that we've reached our data download limit. However, we haven't changed our usage patterns at all—same spreadsheets, same users, same workflows.
Has Bloomberg recently changed any usage limits or data download policies for public/multi-user terminals? Has anyone heard anything from Bloomberg support?
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?
We're based in Germany, in case this is region-specific.
Thanks!

Hi, I am running into a problem and I wanted to see if the experts online could help me!
The problem:
I want to see top ownership of AAPL. Let's say Fidelity manages portfolios with AAPL in it and one of the Fidelity portfolios is owned by CALPERS (big pension fund). I want the results to return CALPERS because they are the end owner of the stock not Fidelity.
If anyone has any insights into how I can do this in Bloomberg, it would be super helpful. Thank you!

Hi, I’m seeking some advice.
How can one leverage a Bloomberg terminal to generate income or gain insights that are exclusively available through them (aside from certifications)?
If anyone could assist me, I would be very grateful.

For four months I have been trying to enable fixed income execution directly through the terminal. Our account manager set up a call with the fixed income electronic trading specialist. They said additional paperwork was required. After multiple follow up emails/IB chats with no response, I reached out to our sales contact. He apologized, said some coverages had changed on the specialist and account manager side, and sent the paperwork. We signed the additional paperwork weeks ago and now again, no responses on next steps or enablement.
By far, the worst service I’ve seen from Bloomberg. I don’t even know what to do anymore.

Anyone out there using the Bloobmerg AI tool ASKB? I have tried it, but I haven't found it to be any better than generic AI tools like the paid version of Claude. It is sometimes a bit better at some things, but it slow and it isn't able to build Excel spreadsheets. Claude can build excel spreadsheets using Bloomberg formulas.
Anyone found things that ASKB is very good at?

Is there any payable service to increase API-RealTime Usage Limits for individual users? Say you approach a hard cap usage level at x and want to double this number.

I have recently landed a job that requires bloomberg work. I have previously worked on refinitiv for data extraction and analysis but I am new to Bloomberg terminal. I used BDP and BDH to fetch historical 5 year ESG DISCLOSURE SCORES of US telecommunication companies, yet all methods that I tried (using AI help even) only returned mostly null values and/or wherever there were any values, they weren’t historical (It returned the same value for all years). I can understand that probably most of the companies dont have that score, but why is the same score returning across all five years for the companies that do have the score? Is it because this score does not exist historically in Bloomberg’s datastream or am I missing something?
Please guide and forgive me for any statements that seemed stupid (I am new to Bloomberg)

Hello,
I am buying a Bloomberg Keyboard on FB-marketplace. I am buying it because I love the keyboard and will be using for Excel and daily work. I am wondering if I can plug in Bloomberg Keyboard on Macbook (using dongles ofc) and it still works? Because system requirements specifications for the keyboard is usually Windows.

Hello,
I am working with bloomberg rest api.
I am looking for specific fields on a setp of tickers, here are some of these:
"EURUSD ECB Curncy"
"EURCLP BFIX Curncy"
"EUR1W Curncy||1|FWD_CURVE_QUOTE_FORMAT|POINTS|"
"EURCAD3W Curncy||1|FWD_CURVE_QUOTE_FORMAT|POINTS|"
"CHSWPF Curncy"
"JYSO7 Curncy"
"ESTRON Index"
"EUR012M Index"
I would like to fetch the list of avaiable fields for each of these securities. I am a newbie using bloomberg but i understood it is the FLDS command from the terminal. I can't use a terminal i just have access to the rest api.
For now, i have fetched all avaiable fields, there are 90K+ different and i am trying to guess the field names i am looking for. Would be great if anyone know how to pass a FLDS command using REST API.

How is the state of things running Bloomberg + Excel addins on Apple Silicon MacOS these days? How is performance? (ie: do we need 48GB M5 Pro etc?)
I know there's been occasional threads about this before but they're quite old so I was curious if anyone had more up to date information.
Thanks all.

Good morning all,
I have a Bloomberg terminal license/account on my computer that has a registered serial number attached. I go to log into my new computer, sign in then it asks for a serial number which i put the serial number that the old machine has but it gives me an error. Do i need to uninstall the serial number from the old one before doing this?
