We decided to take a look back at Honobia, which for a lot of people, may be one of the most controversial events in the history of the subject. I have been doing personal Sasquatch research at the same place on Mt.St.Helens for 12 summers now. I don't know if these lights I've seen have anything to do with Sasquatch, but that's where I saw them. I hope you don't mind me using this forum to discuss lights. (If so- please tell me nicely.) I have had a few weird sightings of lights on Mt.St.Helens throughout the years. Has anyone else seen a small , bright light or any light fairly close to the ground traveling through woods or in camp at night? The ones I have seen -2 different times a light came into my camp. I saw both of them before they were in camp. They were different- one was small and very bright, like a headlight reading light. It floated into camp, just the small light. It was directional, although I saw the light shining on the leaves above and below it. When it turned, shing at me as though looking at me- I shut my eyes. When I opened them again 2 secs later, it was going behind my tent and across the creek. It was not fast. It made no sound whatsoever. It seemed sentient, when it looked at me. The other was dimmer yet bigger- like a lantern would be. The lantern one scared me. I first saw it in the woods quite a ways away from me. I noticed the glow on the front wall of my tent as I was reading. It spread, getting larger. I turned my reading light off and kept checking as it got closer. When it was really close I heard footsteps in the dead grass. As I said, I was scared. At this point I pretended to be asleep. Lying there listening with my eyes closed I remembered to smell, if there was a scent. There was, it was woodsmoke VERY strong and whatever brought this light sounded like it had a stuffy nose while breathing. I laid there listening and fell asleep. When I awoke- I don't know how long after, but the light was gone. No footsteps heard when it left. I had 2 other times where I just had bright light engulf my tent-no one around for miles. 5 mile long , dead end gravel road, so I definatley know if others are around. Has anyone seen such a thing? I haven't really talked about this 'cause you know how crazy it sounds. I think this would be the place.

My opinion: I think that bigfoot is real because of how unexplored the forests of America and Canada are, how taked about they are in native stories, and how much evidence has come out.

First skeptic argument: Lack of photos. I personally have never seen bigfoot, but I have met multiple people who have. They have mentioned that once you see bigfoot, you're too in shock to take a photo, and when you reach for a camera, they're gone. As for trail cameras, Bigfoots generally avoid anywhere where humans have been. They can see or smell us first and and smart enough to know. The few captured have been in remote places like Alberta where humans are rare and the wilderness sure is wild.

Second skeptic argument: Lack of skeletal remains. Forests in America and Canada are very unexplored and new species and areas are being explored every day. It's also likely that bigfoots made it over the Bering land bridge with humans making them easier to confuse with human bones.

Third argument: Lack of density in population: People don't realize how many animals are completely solitary. Bigfoots seem to be a less social species not only because of humans.

Fourth argument: Lack of fur remains: I have met many biologists who work with animal remains and examine them. They commonly get different animals confused with each other from fur. Bigfoots are known to be in remote areas away from humans meaning that fur samples would be hard to find in the first place and even harder to get to scientists.

Conclusion: I believe that bigfoots aren't paranormal or as insane as people think. They're just smart and elusive creatures that avoid people. It shouldn't be viewed as a hard thing to believe in.

I wanna start by saying, I’m a believer. but you gotta admit, some of the stuff people say is kinda crazy. for example, in watching Bigfoot, Matt moneymaker tried to claim that they can make their eyes glow.

edit: guess that’s apparently a common thing? Tbh I’m surprised. I just disregarded it as BS because it doesn’t occur in any other known mammal species

Hi, I finally finished making my own map (all by myself) of sasquatch reports and sightings in Canada, compiled from BFRO data, but this version is in Spanish. It's a collection of reports from BFRO and some other sources. I translated it into Spanish so the Spanish-speaking community can enjoy it too. There are about 450 points marked on the map.

In this video, Robert (cabininthewoods517 on YouTube) looks at the controversies around the famous 1967 Patterson-Gimlin footage, talking to film restoration expert Todd Gatewood and special effects artist Bill Munns.

Robert, along with these two experts explains in depth how the film quality is superb, that no costume would look that good, and how Bob Heironimus is mistaken (but maybe not fully lying) when he says the film shows him wearing an ape suit. He also covers why Stan Wilson was so adamant it was a suit.

Until I can see the documentary everyone is talking about, this analysis by Robert seems very convincing to me.

Hi, I’m a biology student interested in Sasquatch, and I wanted to discuss its taxonomic classification.

The order Primates includes the great apes of the family Hominidae (humans, gorillas, orangutans, chimpanzees, bonobos, and—apparently—Sasquatch).

Bipedal primates within the family Hominidae (humans and extinct forms, such as Australopithecus) belong to a subtribe called "Hominina."

Personally, I don't believe Sasquatch belongs to this latter taxon; however, I find it interesting that it is described as having a conical head (likely due to a sagittal crest, similar to gorillas) and that there are Hominina species (and thus relatives of humans) that also possess this trait (e.g., Paranthropus aethiopicus). The general anatomy described for Sasquatch differs too significantly for it to be closely related to humans, so I wouldn't include it in this taxon.

Now, there is also the matter of a scientific name.

Since there is obviously no official scientific name for this animal—and no known genus to which it can be assigned alongside a specific epithet—I decided to assign it a taxonomic genus myself: Americanopithecus. This yields:

American Sasquatch (Americanopithecus americanus)

Canadian Sasquatch (Americanopithecus canadensis)

Skunk Ape (Americanopithecus americanus floridanus)

As there is no evidence that the American and Canadian versions are even distinct species or subspecies, I preferred to name them separately (let's see in which of the two territories one is discovered first).

The Skunk Ape, however, possesses enough distinct phenotypic characteristics to warrant classification as at least a subspecies of the American Sasquatch—much like the various types of giraffes distinguished by their spot patterns and habitats. In the case of the Skunk Ape, a distinct phenotype would be its foul odor, resulting either from its swamp-dwelling habits or perhaps a scent gland.

These absolutely had access to traveling North East across a land bridge when sea levels were much much lower. Its the exact same pathway many Homo Saipan groups from these same regions populated both North, Central and South America.

Its a miracle we have Meganthropus fossils. These are fossil harsh regions they inhabited. Gigantopithicus was close to a Orangutang and wouldnt have been able to forage here. Its diet was heavily Bamboo

Good afternoon! We are working on a research hypothesis revolving around the idea that disruptive weather systems (storms or weather extreme enough to solicit a response from local wildlife) can lead to Bigfoot sightings and also Bigfoot sighting sprees. The idea started when we realized that the recent Bigfoot sighting spree in Ohio was directly after a large severe thunderstorm went through the area.

We would like to know if anyone here has had an experience before, during, or shortly after a large weather event. Any additional evidence is more than welcome, and we are also willing to do interviews on this topic for our research, which will be published on YouTube.

We are also running search algorithms through known Bigfoot databases to see what published reports also follow this pattern. We hope everyone has a great day!
