I didnt think I was gonna land this fish. It jumped so many times. Parts of me actually hurt after fighting this pig.

For context this is a run-off pond that stems from a much larger lake, the runoff pipe passes underneath some train tracks that are elevated and some heavy brush surrounds the pond but there's a way through. I rarely have seen other fishermen out but there have been the occasional fee and I do see evidence of them being there from time to time.

For the last few weeks I have been going at least once a day on average, sometimes twice - I used to have an easier time catching bass here but lately it seems the bite has completely or almost completely stopped. I catch and release mostly, have only kept two from the many many catches earlier in the season.

So is it me pressuring the bass causing them to be cautious or is it really just July being tough on the bite and is August going to be even harder?

EDIT: that did it, after days of getting skunked. I hit a creature bait Texas rig instead of senkos and landed a nice one. I'll send a new post to show y'all. Thanks for the advice everyone it's very appreciated, this is a great community.

Stepped out right after work just before sunrise and landed two nice bass. This one was a healthy 3lbs 6oz. Hit it on an umbrella rig, slight modified. It didn’t fight too hard, just accepted the fact that I was going to touch it lol. 😆 btw this isn’t my favorite early morning bait just one I happed to use this morning.

I know I’m gonna get hate for this, I have never once since I started fishing used a leader of any sort on braid and I truthfully don’t think it’s ever hurt my bite, am I alone on this or should I just accept I’m wrong

Disclaimer: I have no idea if the lake I’ll be fishing is clear/muddy/green/weedy, all I know is that I’m fishing for bass at night lmaoo

I usually fish at dawn to midday so I’m usually throwing out a morning dawn or bluegill from Roboworm, but this’ll be the first time I’ll be fishing at night at a new lake. I know white and glow in the dark plastics exist, but I have no idea if it’s good for night fishing.

I saw a post saying I should use chatterbait or darker colors, but honestly I’ve only used plastics, and this is my first time using jigs.

What do you guys think is my best bet for fishing at night in general?

TLDR; Fishing at night, what’s the best color plastic? Or should I buy something like chatterbait?

I’m looking for some kind of topwater bait that looks like a dead bluegill/sunfish floating flat on the water, i caught this decent bass the other day using a live bluegill that tired out and started floating. because that’s all they would hit but i feel like if i had a bait to mimic a dead fish it would be killer

Last morning on the lake til Sunday. I'll take it, caught on a ugly stick 7' gx2 ultralight pflueger reel and 6 lbs braid with a 2" white grub barbless.

I live on a private, stocked lake with huge bass but the wife and I only fish from the shore every few days so the fish can stay comfortable.

The first cast, it doesn’t matter what’s on the line, you’ll catch a bass in seconds. Catching a second one only seems possible after maybe 15-20 minutes, but that’s rare even though I can see them splashing and swimming near the dock.

What gives? I’ve tried so many lures and baits but catching more than one fish is a real challenge, even if I fish for an hour

Going on a little trip for my birthday and trying out an area that is new to me. I’m fishing a reservoir off the Cumberland River here in Tennessee. I’ll be putting in at the marina marked with the red “X.” I included street view images of the two bridges. I have marked one with a blue “X” and one with a purple “X.” The street view images have a check mark in the corner in the corresponding color to indicate which bridge it is.

What routes would you take to have the most productive day? As a note, I have a paddle kayak so for distance, I only have as far as my arms can carry me 😂

Little cold front and some wind today in columbus ohio caught a couple good ones on the spinner bait and crank bait. First time fishing the river

Lrgmouth bass. Caught around 2am on blue supermoon. 27.5 in

I was fishing a small private pond, throwing a Texas rigged senko. Huge bite broke my line. 20-30 minutes later swapped to a chatter bait, landed a decent sized fish for the pond. As I was unhooking, found my senko in the back of her mouth. Removed both, fish returned to live a happy life.

Just around 7-8pm the tiny bass pop out for their feedings. These bigger ones chase them down and blow up on the top water. I figured let’s try the umbrella rig and see if they’ll eat. Within minutes of getting to the bank I’m on. Love them the plan comes together.
