A man accused of brutal attacks on women in two city massage parlours has made a bizarre court appearance.
Half-naked in a white forensic suit, Morrison Schrader, 32, was seen mumbling to himself and making hand gestures, including a pistol sign, as he was beamed into Melbourne Magistrates’ Court from prison on Friday.
At times, his bare chest and underwear were exposed as he paced around the room — at one point sitting on the floor and disappearing from view altogether.
The footage shows Mr Schrader allegedly stomping on her body as she lies there defenceless.
The footage was circulated on local WeChat groups, which urged that the man be quickly arrested.
“This behaviour is completely unacceptable. No one – especially women working in service roles – should ever have to fear being punched in the head at their place of work,” the post read.
Mr Schrader is facing various assault offences.
On Friday the court heard he had refused a forensicare assessment and would need to be brought back before the court in person on Saturday.
No details of his alleged offending or personal circumstances were aired.
However the court heard he was “not in any fit state” to give instructions in his case on Friday.
Mr Schrader has been long-term homeless in Melbourne and interstate.
There are records of him living in Byron Bay and surrounds.
It’s understood he has a history of mental ill health.
