Brought her home a week ago today, and I’m honestly a bit surprised by some of her behaviors! (other behaviors, no so surprised)

Within a week she’s learned to go up and down the wooden stairs, and since then has been putting herself to bed after walk, play and food. I don’t have a crate yet, but I think she’ll take to it easily based on what I’ve seen so far. Still not a single accident from day one.

She’s wary of strangers and will bark at them if someone she doesn’t recognize, and my hands and ankles are the evidence of her little needle mouth - but I’m fairly confident that with consistent socialization these behaviors will improve. overall it’s been lovely getting to know her and having her around.

Phoenix turned up under our car a couple of months ago! He’s currently 6 months old and 35 lb.

I had ACD and Husky as my top two breed guesses for him, but I was surprised they were his only two breeds!

He loves toys, all the bones and chews, balls, digging holes, cuddling, and giving us all the side-eye.

He hates motorcycles, male visitors, and going in the car.

Sometimes she scoops it onto the floor with her paw, sometimes she drops her tennis ball in it, sometimes she just flips the whole thing over.

Especially when they’re all tied out.

I got her back in March. ACD mixed. She is 7 months old and 20 lbs. Very polite in public but a little menace at home. Will she get any bigger?

Found out he has bone cancer and too late for anything to help. Found out my best boy will see the rainbow road sooner than later. Give him love.

Every time I’m walking my dog, someone wants to know the breed. And so many people get surprised and say they’ve seen blue heelers but never red.

I also see more blue heelers myself. Which is weird because whenever I’ve owned certain breeds of animals I feel like suddenly they pop up more often and I see them all the time. Not the case with this breed. If it’s true and they are less common, why do you suppose that is?

unfortunately our 4 year old Ruby passed away today, she leaves 2 pups 7 month really attached, behind in our home which will be interesting to see. I know her older brother pyr already misses her, I feel so bad for selfish reasons,she was the best happiest dog ever RIP

I knew it would be hard to say goodbye

I did the introduction correctly. I didn't skip a single step. Everything is fine until food comes out. This dog has literally always been around other dogs until a couple months ago when the older dog I had suddenly snapped and caused some major issues(Killing an animal and injuring another in the process). He was fine at the time. Now everything is fine until food is involved. Idk how to fix this. He's never been a resource guarding dog. I've never dealt with it because I've never had one do it. Idk what's come over him.

Other than food he plays with the pup, sleeps with them, and everything good just growls and snaps when food is involved. Idk how to fix this. I was slow as hell with introducing them!

I tried the training reddit but so far the only response is a guy telling me to crate during meal times which yes I agree stops the issue during meal times but what about if the cats knock food into the floor? Or I drop something? It doesn't fix it. Idk why he's doing this. Maybe I need to keep them seperate longer? I can do so if needed.

Points to add: they are fed in seperate bowls he's reacting to the other dogs bowl. Cats are fed seperately up high but can still drop things.

Too hot to go walking, so she is alternating between chasing The Ball and enjoying her personal swamp.
