I’ve spent a slightly ridiculous amount of time thinking about a simple question:
Why do we train our bodies, attention, productivity and careers—but rarely train how we show up for other people?
Most of us already believe we’re reasonably kind. “Be kinder” can also sound soft, worthy or a bit boring. But the moments when we help someone, connect properly or step outside ourselves are often the moments that make life feel most meaningful.
That led me to Kind Fu: an attempt to treat kindness as a practice rather than a personality trait.
The basic experience is a short daily ritual:
- Arrive and slow down
- Read a brief teaching
- Visualise a situation
- Complete one real act in the world
- Reflect on what happened
- Progress along a path, loosely inspired by martial-arts belts
I’m not a wellness guru. My background is in engineering, technology, operations and product. I’ve been building this mostly alone, using AI to help me turn the idea into a functioning product.
I’ve now made several versions—and I’ve reached the point where being alone with it is making it worse. I’m too close to tell what is genuinely good, what is confusing, what feels cringeworthy, and whether the central idea has real potential.
The website is still rough. I’m sharing it before it feels ready because another month of redesigning it in isolation probably won’t teach me what I need to know.
I’m open to help at almost any level:
- Look at it for two minutes and give me your immediate reaction
- Try one practice and tell me how it felt
- Test it for several days
- Challenge the underlying idea
- Critique the writing, design, psychology or product
- Contribute creatively or technically
- Help think about research, community or how it reaches people
- If the idea really grabs you, work on something small together and see where it leads
I’m also open to eventually finding a serious collaborator or co-founder—but I don’t think that should begin with two strangers declaring themselves co-founders. It should begin by making something together and discovering whether we work well.
This is currently self-funded, so I can’t offer paid employment. I want to be transparent about that rather than disguising unpaid work as an “opportunity.”

Thank you.
