As many others have already done I assume, I am thinking about switching from Adobe software to Affinity for my business. Creative design is an essential, but relatively small element of what we do, so the investment in Adobe software is quite steep currently.

I was wondering if anyone is willing to share some experience on the following:

1. Is there a sizeable stock library available that can be used in creative design? A big plus of Adobe is the many stock images that can be used within our designs.
2. Have you worked in small teams with the different plans? Is it easy to work collaboratively on projects, and if so what plan would be recommended for a +- 3 person team?
3. Is the software compatible on tablet devices?

Any other insights are also well appreciated.

I had no problem removing the background in this pic, but then realized (as you can see in this detail) that there is still gray background visible between the strands of hair. Is there a way to remove that as well, without zooming in and painstakingly erasing every empty space?

I'm working with multi-page spreads and believe I have run into a limit. To make my current data merge work, I need to have a 19 page spread.

System won't let me create a spread with more than 16 pages. I have searched this sub-reddit and found nothing. The "help" section in the app discusses multi-page spreads, but doesn't mention a size limit.

Is this an actual limit? If so, is there a workaround?

im new to affinity and i wanted to select the flower on the image by selecting the image's background then invert it. but after inverting, it instead selected the whole document page, is there a way to fix it? because selecting the background is easier than selecting the flower.

I tried to convert a letter into a Canva frame both in Photopea and Affinity, however when I try to apply a border on the frame, it appears to have lines in between. I tried to check if there are nodes that are not aligned to the border but none. Is there anyone here who knows how I can fit it?

So I have a label that I have created with my logo in the center and a star burst around the outside of the logo. Then in the background, I have an image that follows the rules for the starburst and logo. Basically saying the background image does not interfere with or come into any contact with the logo leaving the logo, clean and crisp with the background flowing around the outer edges.
Every time I try to change the background and just the specific areas with an AI generated image or a picture I have to start completely over and re-create the starburst and logo in the center so that it appears correctly if I don’t, then the background goes behind the entire logo and image and shows up. Is there any way to make a template or direct AI with some sort of prompts so this doesn’t continue to happen?

(Advice needed, not a tech issue)

I switched from Adobe a while back, and still have issues exporting for manufacturing. I design packaging for our products using the packaging company's dieline, and no matter what format I export from Affinity in, they can never see the layers. It's so frustrating.

I've tried all the different types of PDF with layers, compatibility settings, AI, SVG, nothing worked for them, as they exclusively use Adobe.

Does anyone else have a recommended setting for exporting Affinity Designer files to print manufacturers so that the layers are definitely visible?

P.S. I haven't upgraded to V3 yet so I'm not sure if this solves the issue. And I don't have access to Illustrator to test my output.

Hello I'm a beginner in using Affinity so I took a photo of a friend and noticed the eyes aren't looking directly at the camera, I figured I need to change the pupils direction to achieve my idea. Can anyone help me with what Process and the tools I need to make the pupils look at the camera?

(Also if you're asking why not just take another photo shoot, I can't because this was taken days ago and my friend is on a trip)

Sorry about the General flair, I can't figure out if I am using Photo/Designer/Publisher.

I am using Affinity Desktop by Canva. Just downloaded an hour ago. I need some help. I have following layers:

Layer Order:

• Black Trangle Layer (Pen Tool shape).
• Blue with red/darkblue line is a layer group (Contains Symbols - smart).
• Green is background layer. (Just a color)

This is a 50x50 px area.

Without rasterizing the Symbols layer (blue/red/darkblue), I want black triangle layer to sort of become see-through the blue layer, and end up showing green layer. So, the triangle itself shouldnt be visible, it should hide blue layer under it, and show green layer.

How can I do this? I can't seem to figure it out despite trying, please help. My knowledge of Affinity is from this hour I have used it, I have never used Photoshop.

I have used Gimp before, but it doesn't have Smart Symbol stuff.

Holisss estoy diseñando algo que se imprimirá en tela por lo que tengo que exportarlo en PDF, tengo uno que otro Fx y blend modes en el diseño, pero cuando lo exporto en el iPad aparece arriba una línea blanca y creí eran los Fx pero todo los detalles de abajo tiene los mismos y al parecer solo en esa zona aparece asi no se porque, y también los blend modes salen diferentes.

Intente exportar desde mi compu a ver si algo cambiaba, y si los blend modes salen como deberían pero aun permanece la línea blanca sin razón ??? y no se si confiar en como se ve en mi compu o ipad (es ipad pro)

Hallo, ich arbeite mit Affinity Studio bzw Aff Pub 2 und erhalte immer ein Kalendarium (Kalender) in PDF bzw als CS6 (idml) da ja indd nicht lesbar ist.

Würdet ihr das PDF platzieren und bearbeiten oder eher mit der idml arbeiten?

So I am new to Affinity software and have some PDFs I would like to print but they have tan/beige backgrounds which would not print well in B/W and would use loads of ink in color. So, I am wondering if there is a way in Affinity to edit just the background color of existing PDFs. I know in photoshop I could use the curves and white select tools (idk the exact names on those) but figured this would be a good place to ask about Affinity specifically.

Hey guys I am new in affinity. When I select an object Selection tool and select a subject the clock icon comes in and takes a lot of time so is there a solution in affinity?

I am trying to make a shape out some unfilled curves that I made. The join curves button seem to connect nodes that I do not have selected.

Am I doing something wrong? can I not connect three curves at once?

Any help on how to make this one shape would be appreciated

I changed it to colour and I don't know if it's the best, I also changed the glass shards to be more realistic, I'm still unsure to which font to use tho.

Is there a better or proper way to erase areas on a curved edge or rounded edges. I’m currently in the pixel setting and using the erase marker but I don’t seem to really get a smooth erase here.

Context:

This is a car I cropped out from an image and the way I did so was using the object select tool and refined it, however that didn’t give me a good cut out and gave with extra “fuzz”.

I wonder what I could add to make it look better, if the glass-like pieces are good enough or if the composition is great so what do you think of the idea and what can I do to improve it.

Coming from Illustrator, I am wondering if Affinity has something similar. I need to create a lot of icons and would like to use something like artboards for that, unless there is some other workflow that is best for that or things I should keep in mind using Affinities artboards.
