What are the GOAT runs from 2000 onwards? Stuff on the level of Alan Moore Swamp Thing or Marv Wolfman Teen Titans.

There are a few that come to mind:

  • Annihilation/Annihilation Conquest (Really all the Abnett and Lanning cosmic stuff)
  • Batgirl by Kelley Puckett
  • Captain America by Ed Brubaker
  • Daredevil by Brian Michael Bendis
  • Gotham Central by Ed Brubaker and Greg Rucka
  • Hawkeye by Matt Fraction and David Aja (I also really enjoy Kelly Thompson's run about Kate Bishop that came after this one)
  • Journey into Mystery by Kieron Gillen
  • The Immortal Hulk by Al Ewing
  • Ms Marvel by G Willow Wilson
  • Runaways by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona (I also loved Rainbow Rowell's more recent run, but that one really requires you to already know the characters)
  • Secret Six by Gail Simons
  • 52 by Geoff Johns, Keith Giffen, Grant Morrison, Greg Rucka, and Mark Waid
