JDG literally walked face-first into Impale multiple times. It was crazy.

u/Nymaera_ LEC & LPL Caster | LJL Expert Jun 06 '26
The game wasn't Vampire's fault at all, but the flash into the Impale at baron just about summed up JDG's game 4 - inting into the Skarner for inexplicable reasons cost them the game

When ON picks a weird champ, dies in the first few minutes and the proceeds to run around the map like a rat, you know he's gonna carry the game.

Nah, he was in control from the start and was just toying with the opponents. Meanwhile I wouldn't be surprised if he managed to piss off Viper in lane during that Camille game.

For those who are wondering about the bracket and/or haven't been keeping up with LPL: JDG is now out of MSI. To get to MSI BLG will need to beat AL and the loser of TES/WE to get to the LPL finals, if they proceed to lose to the winner of TES/WE then they will be the second seed. If they beat AL, loser of TES/WE, and then winner of TES/WE in grand finals they will be going to MSI as first seed. Certainly not impossible if they lock in and put in the effort to win their games.

u/ob_knoxious Jun 06 '26
I will eat downvotes from EU fans but IMO this is why Hans suddenly looked good at international events for the first time in years. There seems to be a collective ADC slump in the east. Credit to him for figuring out this meta but I also think eventually some of these eastern ADCs will get back to form and EU will be in for a ride awakening.
To a lesser extent this is part of why Diable started the year so hot, although his entire form is being called into question now.
2
u/Sorry-Resolution570 Jun 06 '26

u/Lazywhale97 HLE Jun 06 '26 edited Jun 06 '26
He’s had some inconsistencies in lane but he’s also consistently come out of lane and had big impact regardless so he’s still doing well.
Granted he still has to fix this issue eventually dying early randomly will bite him but so far he’s still done big dmg later regardless.
Dude still ends like top 3 dmg or has big value in team fights no matter how many times enemy team dives him early and he’s brought HLE back into games where they int early multiple times as well. He’s far from had a bad split majority of HLE fans would agree as well.
11
u/L322Man Jun 06 '26
Some? Brother almost all his games have been him put behind unless kanavi comes and bails them out. Hle bot duo is the 2nd worst in legends group, probably.

JKL and Peyz probably looking the best globally right now, Gumayusi can't pilot like 80% of current core meta pairings to save his life
-1
u/Iaragnyl remove Tahm Kench Jun 06 '26
Guma always had massive champ pool issues, and never bothered to learn them because they just abused range supports to make up for it.
→ More replies (1)-8
u/Lazywhale97 HLE Jun 06 '26 edited Jun 06 '26
Guma has still had big impact in majority of games or carried?? Even in games he fed in lane he still had impact in the game. He’s also carried HLE back into games multiple games this year especially on his MF, cait and xayah. He’s had random deaths in lane this split but that’s an outlier for Guma as he’s been a consistent laner for years even when keria left him on an island.
Guma can pilot most champs well we aren’t bringing up Guma champ pool issues in the big 2026. Even his ziggs is viable now. He has had some rough ashe games this split but it’s not a champ he can’t play he has had massive performances on her for years and at worlds last year.

4
u/toxicfireball Rivalry Enjoyer, Doran Defense Force Jun 06 '26
He did int a lot but he would carry a shit ton of games. There was a period of time he never lost a game on Varus and his Kai’sa was perma banned.
Now its just kinda sad watching him.

not really i remember him on that corki and just throw all of IG's lead from just recalling tho tbf that IG roster were all inconsistent as f
9
u/Thatguy69Kappa Jun 06 '26
The game wasn’t really on him to carry? He is playing Jhin vs 4 poke champs, it’s pretty impossible. It’s a lot more on the Yone who the whole comp was built around who kept wasting his whole kit on the Skarner support every single teamfight.

While this is generally true, my mans absolutely either did not use Flashes at crucial moments or in the case of the last game, just straight failed them and faceplanted into a wall. This is a terrible habit of his and has been since I'd say his time on LNG.

JDG, all I'm gonna say is that Jiejie and Elk are in Nirvana and your current weakest players are jungle and adc.
55
u/Thundermelons Just Dating GALA Jun 06 '26
I actually think Junjia wasn't awful today, but yeah, he's had some bad ones and GALA is just such a downgrade from his old self last year
I'm cryin
11
u/Is_J_a_Name Peanut, MISSING, Yagao, Kanavi, HongQ Jun 06 '26
Junjia was actually good this series, but just in the context of the whole year I'd rather have Jiejie.
As far as GALA goes, I will say at the start of the year I always thought Elk would fit Vampire a lot better than GALA would, but GALA/Vampire got off to a pretty good start in split 1 with their laning prowess. I wouldn't mind keeping him since he is obviously a player who has the track record to bounce back and he did it last year with IG in the second half of the year, but I definitely want to see at least one change in this roster since they're clearly stagnating.
8
u/mellon1986 Jun 06 '26
Junjia been very good the entire second split 2. Don't know what you're smoking.
1
u/luvnexos Jun 07 '26
2025 IG watchers never trusted Gala. He bounced back mostly because TheShy and Rookie will literally feed him shutdowns.
I'm a firm believer that any decent ADC would have performed the same if not better than Gala in 2025 IG.
17
u/WhiteKnightRedditor Jun 06 '26
Elk Vampire bot would feed families
9
1
u/HistoricalRoad1755 Jun 07 '26
If Elk is still on WBG slumming it in fucking Nirvana while Viper has his most mediocre year ever there is no justice in the world
7
u/Eldri_Dreaming Jun 06 '26
I don’t think it’s possible for JDG to replace Junjia because he and HongQ are a sort of package deal like Scout and Peyz were last year, if they want to kick Junjia HongQ will leave too. The only roster changes I think JDG can do is to rescue Elk from Weibo (if AL don’t do so) and maybe replace Xiaoxu if there’s a better option available.
16
u/bin_fanboy9 Jun 06 '26
JDG were already considering signing Tian at some point earlier during the season, I don't think it's out of the question
4
u/Eldri_Dreaming Jun 06 '26
Well who can they possibly replace Junjia with? Considering Tian is now with TES (he will definitely stay if they make it to MSI) the best option would probably be Jiejie no?
6
u/Iaragnyl remove Tahm Kench Jun 06 '26
Unless HongQ has something in his contract saying he has to play with Junjia there is literally nothing he can do if JDG decides to bench Junjia.
1
u/BurningApe Jun 07 '26
AL has a reason to keep Hope, he played well last year and synergizes well with his supp + team.
Meanwhile JDG just got whoever was still available and threw in Tabe as a bandaid which as it turns out so far, doesn’t work.
Tabe needs either a strong team (BLG 2024) or a team with strong identity in the right meta (AL). JDG are neither of these things.
What does this mean for LPL as a whole? Most likely another year of poor international results unless BLG shows up.
JDG / AL / WBG roster situation is a mess. AL not so much the roster but the loss of their coach.
1
u/Eldri_Dreaming Jun 07 '26
More or less agree with the JDG roster. But the thing is, JDG do have the potential. You can already see the effect Tabe has on them. Despite losing, their macro around objectives and in a losing game state was much better than BLG's. They gathered and played teamfights around objectives better (on average) than BLG. But just like AL 2025, individually they are just...not it. Xiaoxu and HongQ got thrashed, Junjia fluctuated between bending over Xun and being bent over by him, Viper wasn't good but Gala was somehow even worse, and Vampire was the only player consistently decent in the Bo5.
But I don't think it's over yet. Just like last year, the LPL is very fluid and MASSIVE roster changes can happen in a single offseason. Much as I would like to see AL rescue Elk from Weibo prison, given that Hope has connections with AL management it probably won't happen despite Hope's poor performance. But with Elk performing well this year, there will definitely be some movement from him to escape his elohell. Ideally he goes to AL, which would round out their roster quite nicely, but I think it's more probable that he gets snapped up by JDG or maybe even WE if they make it to MSI. If Meiko doesn't decide to go on break again, I think we might also see him make a move to a better team too.
Also I wouldn't say Hope performed well the previous year. He was adequate domestically but internationally he just got run over by every single ADC his team played against, even if AL did end up winning. Not that Elk was much better in 2025, mind you, but this year at least he's good.

u/Tier_XI_CA_Iowa Jun 06 '26
Well, Junjia outperformed Xun today and being consistent in Split 1 playoffs and Split 2 while Jiejie sent his team into Nirvana in the last bracket...

Peak ON is better player than peak Keria.
16
u/NotYetPerfect Jun 06 '26
Peak keria was undisputed best player in the world. Peak on isn't even the best player on his team.
-8
u/MonsterAzr Jun 06 '26
Keria at no point in his career was best player in the world. Even being best player on his team is questionable
1
u/yasirhidani Jun 08 '26
Keria won t1 3 worlds , keria literally gapped every support since 2022 at worlds. Keria in spring 2023 was the best player in the world , keria as we speak now is arguably the best player in the world with chovy. Keria in 2022 won mvp of the split as a support never happend before.
1
u/MonsterAzr Jun 08 '26
How many LCK titles does keria have? How many MSI titles does keria have? Also you clesrly domt watch LPL if you think chovy or keria are best players in the world currently.
9
u/Donkhit Jun 06 '26
Both players have rly high peaks , and i somewhat agree that ON is a monster when he plays at his peak

Especially G4, which is pure chaos and reminds everyone that if BLG wants to play aggressively, it will always be to finish ahead in gold, even if they die.

A very good series that alternates between an unassailable weakside and a hard carry in teamfights.

Xun is one of the few players in LoL history that had the Nidalee pass in high stakes games, and he demonstrates why once again. He consistently has had it banned against him in playoff series, and he continues to make it work.
ON Skarner and Knight Jayce CC combos into Nidalee spears just blew the game wide open.
Knight or ON player of the series. Beautiful, quintessential BLG series.
Still think TES or WE actually have a good shot against BLG, but it good to see BLG bounce back!
9
u/Potica6857 Jun 06 '26
Tabe is usually cooking with comps, but idk what happened today. Every game JDG picks losing lanes and relies on late game teamfights, but BLG is not gonna give you that.
17
u/GeneralZhukov Jun 06 '26
"Just beat them in lane" is also not much of a strat against BLG.
Sometimes a team is just outclassed. And when the better team doesn't choke hard enough, like, not every series is winnable with the power of friendship.
7
u/Potica6857 Jun 06 '26
I just don't get the Jhin/Serpahine lane, picking 2 utility champions with 0 agency and tempo is mega griefing.
1
u/GeneralZhukov Jun 06 '26
Sera was a denial pick to deny the Ashe+Sera combo. Jhin is literally the "never loses lane badly unless things go wrong, generally has prio and tempo if nothing goes wrong, pray you have a scaling mid/top bc ur getting out-dps'ed by every ADC" ADC pick, and given how dogshit Gala was today putting him on some utility loser was 100% the play.
They also did have damage instead of control/midgame coming out of Mid, and Olaf does more damage than most random blorbo tank picks. Sej Yone is also a known and effective combo. They had an enchanter to back up Olaf midgame. Olaf is pretty decent at running Ashe down.
1
u/froggy-the-dog Jun 06 '26
isn't ziggs way better vs ashe and work better with JDG comp tho, should just copy HLE strat ngl
0
u/GeneralZhukov Jun 06 '26

GALA has been so dogshit the past 2 years except for regional finals for worlds last year. Stinker after stinker - when consistency used to be his thing. What happened to my goat.
1
u/Spanking_enthusiast Jun 06 '26
I don't think he played bad except the first game. In all of the games he was the only one with a lead while both of his solo lanes get gapped. The only game they won was also because he 1v9ed

Picking Jhin with a full AD damage team is certainly a decision.
Also Zaahen into 3 melees plus a Jhin is such a checkmate situation.
3
u/Rawdream Jun 06 '26
BLG and having Bin, Xun, Knight and On taking turns to carry. Not a very good split for Bin, though.
On should keep on learning more champions, he has the mentality to do it, just like I remember he said he'd learn Lulu after losing to Lulu Vs JDG in 2023 Spring Split Final, then he became very good on the pick for MSI.
Near the end, Viper and trying to lose, then BLG winning 4v6, again.

Kind of a sloppy series from Knight. He's still Knight though, so a 7/10 performance by his standards is still enough to win, but ehhh. Hoping he cleans it up. Don't know what this series looks like if Gala didn't have an insanely bad Ez game.
Xiaoxu. I mean, ehh. Bin actually performed to his usual level today, and there aren't many top laners in the world who can withstand that.

BLG is good but based on these LPL playoffs they're not nearly as good as they appear because the top of the LPL is just not very good. JDG and AL look lost in terms of macro, decisionmaking, and teamfighting. And despite this BLG don't look overwhelmingly dominant. They don't bring to mind 2023 JDG, 2024/25 GenG, or even 2024 BLG.
I don't think AL or JDG could beat HLE, GenG, KT, or T1.

Weird, because my feeling the opposite of yours. I think that this BLG is stronger than BLG 2024, when they’re activated.

The positive effect that Daeny has had on both the team's mental game as well as their drafting has been extremely noticeable.
Meanwhile, the detrimental effect that BigWei has had on AL has been equally noticeable.
More than anything else, I think this is the biggest upgrade between BLG 2024 and BLG 2026.

Yes.
The LPL is quite weak this year except BLG.
However, BLG is really strong with a meta that suits them, thanks to this top lane quest that allows Bin to convert his lanes and leave Viper alone to play a 3-man mid lane with Xun and On.

I honestly don't even think AL and JDG are the next two teams after BLG, considering it's likely they place 4th and 5th respectively this split and it would be completely deserved. I mean AL just completely collapsed in split 1 and JDG nearly lost to a team with jiaqi adc and a dude who admitted to matchfixing in every game his team lost, and have looked worse and worse ever since losing that upper bracket final to BLG.
I think the next series will tell us who the other top 2 team alongside BLG is rn, if WE shows up again and gets to MSI I think it's safe to say they are a different team now.

Yeah AL have been on mega fraud watch ever since lane quests and their weak top/bot cant just duck laning phase and play a really good laneswap like they used to.
Unfortunately the other top team behind BLG might just end up being TES whose a fodder team for T1 every year at worlds and can lose to competition much worse than they should. I hope WE can surprise us tho.

If BLG beats AL, one of AL and JDG are 100% the 2nd best team if you go by international potential, watch TES repeat the same result every year and WE (in the unlikely event) will just be another BFX storyline, and probably worse with their caliber of players.

JDG is very bad in teamfights. BLG did not play good , JDG was bad.

Ye but everyone will continue to act like JDG are some powerhouse 2nd seed team and them not going to MSI is a big surprise when they finished 9-5, the two teams right behind them were 8-6. They went to first stand only because TES were basically handicapped in split 1, that same team with their players back demolished them to send them down here in the first place, and AL had a crazy collapse, not just to them, but also weibo in split 1.
With this context I had JDG finishing 4th behind AL, TES and BLG since I didn't expect WE to play like this.

That was the worst Jhin I have ever seen in a pro game, I'm not even joking. He ulted one time in the entire game, and it was to tickle a full hp Skarner.

I have such a love and hate relationship with ON. He's like a more psychotic, less intelligent Keria. He's permanently fluctuating between making the most insane plays you've ever seen and mercilessly running it down.
